Generally, most travellers would like to stay at Wulingyuan District Central Area, where is the most convenient place for you to visit Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and other 3 attractions (Yuanjiajie, Yangjiajie, Tianzi Mountain) in Wulingyuan Scenic Area. So you firstly need to go to Wulingyuan central area for checking in. It will take 2 days to explore Wulingyuan Scenic Area. At the first day, you will start your tour by visiting Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, where you could explore Huangshizhai and Golden Whip Brook. At the next day, you could go to visit Yuanjiajie and Tianzi Mountain.

The Wulingyuan Scenic Area has 5 ticket stations. Among them, Wujiayu Ticket Station is about 1.6 km to the government of Wulingyuan District and is close to Tianzi Mountain. Forest Park Ticket Station is the nearest one to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Zimugang Ticket Station is close to Yuanjiajie.

By Taxi - Convenient But Not Very Comfortable

You could take a taxi from Zhangjiajie West Railway Station to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park directly if you arrive early or go to Wulingyuan District Central Area if you arrive late. There are many taxis you could take at the exit of Zhangjiajie West Railway Station.

The driving distance between Zhangjiajie West Railway Station and Forest Park Ticket Station is about 23 km (about 30 mins) and you may need to pay about ¥100.

The driving distance between Zhangjiajie West Railway Station and Wulingyuan District Central Area is about 28 km (about 35 mins) and you may need to pay about ¥100.

By Bus - Cheapest & Most Complicated (Suitable for Independent Travellers)

Zhangjiajie West Railway Station to Wulingyuan District Central Area (About 30 ~ 40 mins)

The distance between Zhangjiiajie West Railway Station and Wulingyuan District Central Area is about 28 km (about 35 mins) by car. You could take direct bus from Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station to Wulingyuan District Central Area. Daily buses run every 10 mins. Operating time of the bus is like this: 06:30~18:30 (Autumn/Winter), 06:30~19:00 (Spring/Summer). You need to think if you could catch the bus when you arrive at Zhangjiajie West Railway Station. The bus ticket is ¥ 12/person and it will take about 40 minutes to Wulingyuan Bus Station.

Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station is about 9km to the southeast of Zhangjiajie West Railway Station. You could take a taxi or car to the ticket office of the bus station, which takes about 15 ~ 20 minutes.

Wulingyuan District Central Area to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (About 40 mins)

Although there are 5 ticket stations of Wulingyuan Scenic Area, the nearest one to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is Forest Park Ticket Station. You need to go to the Forest Park Ticket Station to enter Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. The driving distance between Wulingyuan district and Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is about 20 km, and it will take about 30 mins by car.

There is daily bus that departs every 30 minutes (6:30~17:30) from Wulingyuan Bus Station to Forest Park Ticket Station. The bus ticket is ¥10/person. When you go back to hotel in Wulingyuan District Central Area, the latest bus from Forest Park Ticket Station to Wulingyuan Bus Station departs at 18:00.

Wulingyuan District Central Area to Yuanjiajie & Tianzi Mountain

Most travellers would go to Yuanjiajie first and then go to Tianzi Mountain, then they could go back from Wujiayu Ticket Station. If you want to do so, then you need to enter Yuanjiajie through Zimugang Ticket Station (Close to Yuanjiajie), or Wujiayu Ticket Station (Close to Tianzi Mountain).

The driving distance between Wulingyuan and Zimugang Ticket Station is about 15 km by car (About 25 mins), and the driving distance between Wulingyuan and Wujiayu Ticket Station is about 1.6 km by car (About 5 mins).

As there's no direct bus from Wulingyuan to Zimugang Ticket Station, you could also enter the scenic area from the Wujiayu Ticket Station, and then take the free sightseeing bus to Yuanjiajie and Tianzi Mountain. The distance between Wujiayu Ticket Station and Yuanjiajie is about 12 km. You need to take the bus no.1 for about 1.5 km from Wulingyuan to Wujiayu Ticket Station (About 20 mins).

A Zhangjiajie tour definitely can't miss Wulingyuan Scenic Area, one of the World Heritages. Most travellers will spend about 3 days to explore this area. They will go to visit Zhangjiajie National Forest Park for those exquisite forests, odd-shaped peaks and rocks, the beautiful canyons, the limestone caves, and the breath-taking panoramic views. Then they will visit Yuanjiajie to look for those floating mountains in the Hollywood movie Avatar. Next, they will visit Tianzi Mountain which has four wonders: the Sea of Clouds, the Radiance of the Moonlight, Rays of Sunshine and the Snow in winter.

If they have 1~2 more days, they will visit the nearby attractions as Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon to experience the exciting Glass Bridge, Baofeng Lake to have a relax, or Yellow Dragon Cave to explore an enchanting palace.
