Get to Zhangjiajie by Air
Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport (张家界荷花国际机场) is the only airport in Zhangjiajie city. Currently, it operates 42 airlines from/to 42 cities both domestic and international. It means travelers can take flights from Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Changsha, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Kunming, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Tianjin, Qingdao, etc. Most flights land in Zhangjiajie in the evening. Location & Detailed Address: Jichang Road, Yongding District, Zhangjiajie (张家界市永定区机场路)
Transportation: The airport is located at the southwest of Zhangjiajie downtown, about 5 kilometers to downtown area (about 10 minutes by driving). And it is about 30 kilometers to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, taking about 40-50 minutes by driving. It is about 9 kilometers to Tianmen Mountain which needs 15-20 minutes by driving.
Get to Zhangjiajie by Train
Taking trains is another good way to reach Zhangjiajie. Nowadays, there are high-speed trains connecting Zhangjiajie with Changsha (shortening the transfer time from 4-5 hours to 2.5-3.5 hours), Chongqing (less than 4 hours), Chengdu (7.5 hours), Guilin (7.5 hours), Beijing (10.5 hours), Shanghai (9.5 hours)... Travelers can also take normal trains to Zhangjiajie from Yichang (4.5-5 hours), Tongren (about 7 hours), Xian (15 hours), Wuhan (10 hours), and so on. The trains will arrive at Zhangjiajie West Railway Station (张家界西站) or Zhangjiajie Railway Station (张家界火车站), both stations are located in the downtown area.

Transportation: Zhangjiajie Railway Station is located in the downtown area. It is about 6 kilometers to Tianmen Mountain (about 15 minutes by driving) and about 29 kilometers to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (about 40-50 minutes by driving).
Travel around Zhangjiajie by high speed trains:
● Zhangjiajie to Fenghuang Ancient Town: Fenghuang Ancient Town is the no. 2 recommended places to visit in Hunan Province. There are about 10 high speed trains transferring between Zhangjiajie and Fenghuang now. It costs only about 1 hour to transfer between two places, only about 1/5 of driving time. ● Changsha to Zhangjiajie: There are over 35 trains running from Changsha to Zhangjiajie each day. Most of them are high speed trains. The fastest one takes less 2 hours to reach Zhangjiajie. It's strongly recommended to travel Changsha with Zhangjiajie now. Changsha to Zhangjiajie
● Yichang to Zhangjiajie: For travelers who have taken Yangtze River downstream cruise from Chongqing to Yichang, they usually choose to take a train to Zhangjiajie. Yichang to Zhangjiajie
● Zhangjiajie to Tongren (铜仁): For travelers who want to combine Mount Fanjing with Zhangjiajie, they can take a train from Zhangjiajie to Fenghuang first, then go to Tongren where Mount Fanjing located by bus.

Get to Zhangjiajie by Long Distance Bus
Taking long distance buses is another alternative to Zhangjiajie. There is only one coach station in Zhangjiajie called Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station (张家界中心汽车站). Long distance buses are available from/to Changsha, Fenghuang Ancient Town, Furong Ancient Town, Yichang and more destinations in Hunan and China.

Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station Location & Address: It is located at the west of Zhangjiajie Railway Station at Guanli Road, Yongding District, Zhangjiajie City (张家界市永定区官黎路)
Transportation: It is about 6 kilometers to Tianmen Mountain (about 15 minutes by driving) and about 29 kilometers to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (about 40-50 minutes by driving).
Get to Zhangjiajie from Changsha
Changsha is served as the transfer city to Zhangjiajie. It is located in the southeast of Zhangjiajie in Hunan province. The distance between each other is 321 kilometers away. Travelers can get to Zhangjiajie from Changsha by air, train, and long distance bus.
Nowadays, there are more than 15 high speed trains running from Changsha Railway Station to Zhangjiajie West Railway Station everyday from 7:00 to 19:50. The whole journey only takes about 2.5 ~ 3.5 hours. Besides, travelers can take normal trains from Changsha to Zhangjiajie. There are 7 trains every day, taking around 4.5 hours to 5.5 hours.
There were once several daily nonstop flights between Changsha Huanghua International Airport and Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport. However, due to the increased frequency of high-speed trains, the number of flights has been reduced and they may be subject to cancellation during off-peak seasons. We highly recommend considering the high-speed train option for a more reliable and stable travel experience.
There are lots of coaches running from Changsha to Zhangjiajie. You can go from Changsha West Bus Station, Changzhutan Bus Station, Changsha East Bus Station, Changsha Railway Station, Changsha Huanghua International Airport to different areas of Zhangjiajie such as Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station, Tianmen Mountain cableway, Yellow Dragon Cave.

Get to Zhangjiajie from Shanghai
Shanghai is situated at the mouth of Pearl River Delta in the east of Zhangjiajie. The distance between each other is about 1284 kilometers. Zhangjiajie can be a perfect weekend destination for business people in Shanghai. The most popular way to get to Shanghai is by air.
There are four direct flights from Shanghai Pudong International Airport to Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport. One in the morning and three at night. It takes about 2.5 hours.
There is only one high speed train running from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station to Zhangjiajie West Railway Station, taking about 9.5 hours. Two normal trains are also available to operate from Shanghai South Railway Station to Zhangjiajie Railway Station. The who length is 20 hours to 22.5 hours.

Get to Zhangjiajie from Beijing
Beijing is capital of China served as the gateway city to China. It is situated in the north China in the northeast of Zhangjiajie, about 1567 kilometers away. Travelers can get from Beijing to Zhangjiajie by air and train. The most convenient way is by air.
There is only one direct flight from Beijing to Zhangjiajie. If you cannot get a direct flight, you can first transfer to Changsha and then get to Zhangjiajie from Changsha by air, train or long distance bus.

If you fail to book a flight from Beijing to Zhangjiajie, taking a high speed train is a good alternative. Beijing West Railway Station operates one daily high speed train to Zhangjiajie West Railway Station and the whole train trip takes about 10.5 hours. There are also three K trains running from Beijing Railway Station or Beijing West Railway Station to Zhangjiajie Railway Station, which take 23 ~ 26.5 hours. For the long time on the train, you are not recommended to take train.

Get to Zhangjiajie from Xian
Traveling from Xian to Zhangjiajie is a common choice. Xian is located at northwest of Zhangjiajie in Shaanxi Province. It is about 970 kilometers away. Travelers can go from Xian to Zhangjiajie by air and train. Flight is first choice from Xian to Zhangjiajie.
Two direct flights are available from Xian to Zhangjiajie. Both of them will take off at night. It takes about 1.5 hours. If you cannot get a direct flight, you can transfer to Changsha first and then get to Zhangjiajie from Changsha.
There is only one train from Xian to Zhangjiajie. It goes from Xian Railway Station to Zhangjiajie Railway Station. It takes around 18 hours. It is not recommended to take train to Zhangjiajie for the long time on the road.

Get to Zhangjiajie from Guilin
“East or west, Guilin landscape is the best”. Similar to Zhangjiajie, Guilin is the gorgeous scenic destination worth your time to spend 3 to 4 days. Some travelers who are obsessed with natural scenery, you want to put Guilin and Zhangjiajie in one trip. Guilin is at the south of Zhangjiajie City in Guangxi Province, about 600 kilometers away.
Taking a high speed train is the best way to travel from Guilin to Zhangjiajie. There is one daily high speed train available. You can board the train at Guilin Railway tation or Guilin North Railway Station, and reches Zhangjiajei West Railway Station. The whole train trip takes about 7.5 hours. If you fail to book the high speed train, you can make a transfer in Liuzhou or Changsha.

Get to Zhangjiajie from Yichang
Yichang is the starting or ending point of a Yangtze River cruise located in Hubei Province. It is situated in the northeast of Zhangjiajie City, about 378 kilometers away. A part of travelers would like to extend their Yangtze River cruise tripto Zhangjiajie to marvel at the incredible Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. The most recommended way to get from Yichang to Zhangjiajie is by train.
There are two trains running from Yichang to Zhangjiajie. The suitable one is at noon - K1473 (13:08-18:02). Travelers should arrive at Yichang East Railway Station for the 5-hour train to Zhangjiajie Railway Station.
(Tips: If you take a downstream Yangtze cruise from Chongqing to Yichang, the trip usually ends around 12:30 in Yichang downtown area. But the time is very tight to head to the train station for the train. We recommend you use our private transfer service to pick you up at Three Gorges Dam Site for a direct drive to Yichang East Railway Station to catch the train.)

Get to Zhangjiajie from Chengdu
Chengdu is the “Hometown of Giant Pandas” located in Sichuan Province in western China. It is in the northwest of Zhangjiajie, about 877 kilometers in between. Many travelers choose to visit Zhangjiajie after Chengdu tours. Limited flights are connected Chengdu with Zhangjiajie. No direct train is served between.
Direct flights are available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from Chengdu to Zhangjiajie. It takes off at afternoon from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport to Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport. It needs 1.5 hours in total. You’d better check the flights condition before arrange Chengdu Zhangjiajie tour. Or you can transit to Changsha first and then to Zhangjiajie.
There is also one bullet train per day available, which takes about 7.5 hours in total.

Get to Zhangjiajie from Hong Kong
No direct flights and trains are connecting Hong Kong with Zhangjiajie. Travelers need to transfer to mainland cities of China and then to Zhangjiajie.
● Transfer Tips:
Hong Kong -> Guangzhou -> Zhangjiajie: Travelers can take high speed train to Guangzhou South Railway Station first and then take the direct flight from Guangzhou to Zhangjiajie.

● Hong Kong -> Changsha -> Zhangjiajie: High speed trains are available from Hong Kong to Changsha, taking 3-3.5 hours. You’ll arrive at Guangzhou South Railway Station. If you go to Zhangjiajie by train, you need to head to Changsha Railway Station for the train. Or, you can use our private car service for a direct drive to Zhangjiajie (about 4 hours).

● Hong Kong -> Shenzhen -> Zhangjiajie: Travelers can take high speed train to Shenzhen Futian Railway Station or Shenzhen North Railway Station and then take flight to Zhangjiajie (flight is available only at night).

Get to Zhangjiajie from Guangzhou
Guangzhou is located in Guangdong Province at the southeast of Zhangjiajie, about 955 kilometers away. Both Flights and trains are available between Guangzhou and Zhangjiajie. Flight is more convenient than train.
There are two flights from Guangzhou to Zhangjiajie every day. One is the morning and one is at night. It takes 1 hour and 40 minutes.
No high speed train is provided at present. There are four K trains running between. If go by train, you should go from Guangzhou Railway Station to Zhangjiajie Railway Station, taking 13.5 hours to 15 hours in total.

Get to Zhangjiajie from Tongren (Guizhou)
Fanjingshan or Mount Fanjing, located within the Wuling mountain range in Tongren City, Guizhou Province, is about 286 kilometers away from Zhangjiajie. At present, the transportation between each other is not so convenient. You can go by train or use our private car service.
There is only ONE train running from Tongren Railway Station to Zhangjiajie Railway Station. It starts from 12:00 to 16:55, taking around 5 hours. If you go from Zhangjiajie to Tongren, you should arrive at Zhangjiajie Railway Station early to board the train at 03:56.
Otherwise, it is recommended to use our private car service to transfer easily to Mount Fanjingshan.
