1 Day Suzhou Itinerary

Plan A: 1 Day Suzhou City Tour Itinerary

For tourists who are in limited time and want to fully explore the essence of Suzhou's city area, one museum + one classic garden + one ancient street is a classic combination for most people. In the morning, you can choose to go to either the Suzhou Museum or the Suzhou Silk Museum to fully appreciate the history and culture of the Suzhou area. Then head to one of the Classical Gardens of Suzhou, and the most recommended is the Humble Administrator's Garden, which known as the "Mother of the World's Classical Gardens", or the Lingering Garden, one of the "Top Four Classical Gardens in China". Both of them are UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can fully appreciate the elegance of the classical gardens in the Jiangnan (south of the Yangtze River) area. When night falls, continue to either Pingjiang Road or Shantang Street to fully experience the charm of Jiangnan ancient street. These two ancient streets are built along the river, and even in the city area, you can get a glimpse of the water town in Suzhou.

Suzhou water towns are mostly located in the suburbs, and you can choose to travel from Suzhou city or directly from Shanghai to the nearby water towns.
