Get to/away from Huangshan City
Huangshan Tunxi International Airport (also known as Tunxi Airport) is at Tunxi District, about 7 kilometer away from the downtown city and 66 km away from the Yellow Mountain. At present, there are available flights linking Huangshan with most important domestic cities in China, like Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Taipei etc. as well as some international cities in Japan, USA, French, and Thailand etc. Flights between Shanghai and Huangshan (1 hour and 40 minutes), which makes the tour including Metropolis Shanghai and Charming Huangshan easily is a popular one. Frequent shuttle bus can take you to the Huangshan City within 20 minutes at a cost of about 6 RMB. Taxi is also accessible and efficient.
There are two railway stations in Huangshan including Huangshan Railway Station and Huangshan North Railway Station. Huangshan North Railway Station serves High speed trains while Huangshan Railway Station serves ordinary trains.
Huangshan Railway Station
Huangshan Railway Station on Qianyuan North Road, just 2 km away from the Tunxi District, is the a station for ordinary trains. You could take the direct trains to Huangshan from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Jingdezhen etc. There is an overnight train from Shanghai that takes about 13 hours, helping you save a night at a hotel, so it is a popular option. Besides, many travelers choose nearby Hangzhou (2.5 hours by coach) and Nanjing as their transfer stop.
Tips: From the Huangshan Railway Station you can easily take a bus to the center of Huangshan city as well as Mt. Huangshan.
Huangshan North Railway Station
With the operation of Huangshan North Railway Station (11 km away from the downtown area), more and more tourists tend to catch High Speed Trains to Huangshan to enjoy a more fast and comfortable journey. Located the economic development zone of Huangshan City, Huangshan North Railway Stattion is the transportation hub of Hefei-Fuzhou High-speed Railways, Hangzhou-Huangshan High Speed Railways and Anhui-Jiangxi High Speed Railways. There are nearly 60 G-trains have a stop at Huangshan North Railway Station. You can easily get to Huangshan from Beijing (as fast as 5 hours and 25 minutes), Shanghai (1 hour and 44 minutes), from Hangzhou (3 hours and 9 minues),Xian (8 hours), Xiamen, Qingdao, Changsha, Zhengzhou and others.

Tips: There are several tourists’ buses running to the Yellow Mountain, Hongcun Village, Xidi Village, Huizhou Ancient City and other scenic spots directly. Within one hour, you could reach to the Yellow Mountain.

Get Around Huangshan City
Taking a taxi is the easiest way to get around Huangshan City because you can find it almost everywhere. Flag down fare in Huangshan is 5 RMB for the first 3 km and 1.5 RMB per extra km after 3 km. It costs just about 15 RMB from the airport to the Huangshan downtown city. It is about an hour’s drive from airport to the base of Mt. Huangshan, usually costs about 150-200 RMB.
There are sightseeing buses from Huangshan downtown area to the world heritage sites, like Mt. Huangshan, Xidi Ancient Village and Hongcun Ancient Village, within 1.5 to 2 hours’ transfer. To transfer in and Huangshan easily, you can use our private car service. Transfer within Huangshan City, public bus is an economic transportation. The ticket fee is 1 RMB for ordinary bus and 2 RMB for air-conditioned bus.

Most travelers tend to accommodate in Huangshan City and then transfer to Mt. Huangshan. The distance between Huangshan downtown area and Tangkou Town (the base of Mt. Huangshan) is about 60 km (1 hour’s drive). For independent travelers, there are frequent tourist buses to Tongkou in the Tunxi Bus Station.
Get Around Mt. Huangshan
From the town of Tangkou, at the foot of the mountain, a shuttle service operates every 20 minutes to the Mercy Light Pavilion Station or Cloud Valley Temple Station. Then you could ascend Yellow Mountain more rapidly.
If you are not a serious hiker and plan to have a few days to explore Mt. Huangshan, the cable car is a must while climbing the mountain. It will not only save you time and effort, but also help you get a bird’s eye view of Yellow Mountain and its surrounding area. There are four cableways, containing Yungu Cableway, Yuping Cableway, Xihai Cableway and Taiping Cableway.

Thanks for your questions and good morning from China Discovery. Yes, you need a China visa to enter China. And L-type Chinese Visa (L-visa) is recommended. There is no special requirement for visa about visiting Huangshan. A regular Chinese Tourist Visa with at least one entry is qualified.

Thanks for your questions. Hot spring is a part of Mt. Huangshan, located in the scenic area. I have searched the Mt. Huangshan official website and I got the info - to travel from Huangshan Bus Station to Mt. Huangshan Hot Springs, you should first reach Tangkou Zhaixi Transfer Center (汤口寨西换成中心), the take the Mt. Huangshan sightseeing bus to the Hot Spring Scenic Area (you can stop at Ciguangge Station). The sightseeing buses are many and you won’t wait for too long.
