By Public Bus If You Travel Independently

If you want to take a public bus, you need to transfer via Fenghuang and Tongren, which may be a little complicated. This way is most chosen by independent travellers. If you are in Zhangjiajie city, then you can choose to take bus from the Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station, and you could take bus from Wulingyuan Bus Station if you are in Wulingyuan Scenic Area. The distance between Fenghuang Bus Station and Fenghuang Ancient Town is about 3 km by car, and you could easily take bus or taxi. How to Transfer from Tongren Tourism Passenger Station to Fanjingshan

The distance between Tongren Tourism Passenger Station and Fanjingshan Tourist Center is just about 70 km by car, and it will take about 1.5 hrs. You could take direct bus, taxi, or transfer via Jiangkou County to Fanjingshan Tourist Center from Tongren Tourism Passenger Station. Option 2: By Overnight Train & Not Recommended

If you want to take a train, then you could take a direct normal train from Zhangjiajie to Tongren without Fenghuang, and then transfer to Fanjingshan by bus or taxi. However, there is only one direct overnight train from Zhangjiajie to Fenghuang (K9065: 03:56 ~ 10:50) which may be too late to take, thus it's not recommended to do so. Otherwise, you could transfer via Huaihua and you will need about 5.5 hrs from Zhangjiajie Railway Station to Tongren Railway Station, but you will also arrive late at Tongren Railway Station.

By Public Bus Via Fenghuang - Inconvenient & Complicated

You could also take bus from Fanjingshan to Zhangjiajie via transferring at Fenghuang. You need to go to Tongren from Fanjingshan firstly, and then take bus form Tongren to Fenghuang. After arrving at Fenghuang, you need to transfer to Zhangjiajie.
