Airport/机场 (Exit C): to visit Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (深圳宝安机场) to catch your flight.

 

Hong Kong Shenzhen MTR

Hong Kong and Shenzhen are connected by convenient MTR directly at Luohu Port (Lo Wu) in Shenzhen. Travel from Shenzhen city center to Luohu Port (Luohu Station on Shenzhen metro line 1) by metro needs about 40 minutes. After arriving at the port, you will need to exit the metro on the Shenzhen side of the border, cross the full international border and then join the Hong Kong MTR for onward journey. At both crossings, the subway stations and international border are contained within the same complex. If you are going to make the journey from Hong Kong side, you need to arrive at the Hong Kong side of the border first, and then transfer to Shenzhen downtown by Shenzhen Metro lines.

Shenzhen Metro Card & Fare

There are several types of metro cards in Shenzhen. The fares of taking a metro by using those cards depend on the journey's distance. For the tourist traveling around Shenzhen, you are recommended to use the following three kinds of metro cards:

Single Journey Ticket: this type of ticket needs buying every time you want to take a metro in Shenzhen for the single time take; No refunding after 30 minutes from your payment;

One-Day Pass: this One-Day Pass is sold RMB 20 and can be used for taking Shenzhen Metro lines without limit in 24 hours after the first use;

Shenzhen Tong Card: refers to the rechargeable public traffic card. This kind of card is sold RMB 100 (the card charges RMB 20, and you will have RMB 80 in account). It is advised for the tourist who is going to stay at Shenzhen for a long period of time, or the travelers who want to keep it as a souvenir.

Tip for Riding the Metro in Shenzhen

You are recommended to try to avoid travelling on the Shenzhen Metro during the rush hours (weekdays, 7-9am and 5.30-7pm), particularly if you have any large baggage/luggage with you as you may need to wait a long time for a ticket and you may hard to find enough space to fit you in.
