Shanghai China Map - Where is Shanghai Located in China?
Shanghai (120° 52'- 122° 12′E, 30° 40' - 31° 53′N), is located on the southern estuary of the Yangtze river, facing the East China Sea in the east, with Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces in the north and west. It is only about 175km to Hangzhou, 100km to Suzhou, 300km to Nanjing, and 385km to the famous Mt. Huangshan.

Shanghai has 16 districts so far. Seven of these districts govern Puxi, meaning the west bank of Huangpu River, and Huangpu District is the administrative center. These seven districts are the core area of Shanghai downtown, namely Huangpu, Xuhui, Changning, Jing'an, Putuo, Hongkou, and Yangpu. Pudong the east bank of Huangpu River, is the newer part of Shanghai is governed by Pudong New Area, and the other districts, namely Baoshan, Minhang, Jiading, Jinshan, Songjiang, Qingpu, and Fengxian, govern suburbs of Shanghai.
