Day 1 Yangzhou Arrival & Pick Up

Welcome to Yangzhou! You will be picked up by your tour guide and driver at Yangzhou railway station, then transfer to check in your hotel in Yangzhou downtown. The rest time is free for you to relax and explore this charming ancient city.

How to get to Yangzhou? Yangzhou is located in southeastern China. You can get there by high speed trains from Shanghai (2hrs), Nanjing (50mins), Suzhou (1.5hrs), Wuxi (1hr), etc.

Free time & nightlife suggestions – you can go to explore the old pedestrian street of Dongguan Street which is full of custom, local snacks, souvenir shops and night views.

Day 2 Yangzhou Day Tour & Departure (B, L)

Your tour guide will meet you at your hotel in the morning, then accompany you to explore the most classic Yangzhou itinerary. Firstly you will be taken to Slender West Lake which is the No. 1 attraction of Yangzhou as well as one of the most beautiful lakes in China with significance of both culture and landscape. It is an important part of UNESCO World Heritage Site – Jinghang Grand Canal. UNESCO claims that the Slender West Lake represents the taste and lifestyle in Chinese traditional society and highly developed salt economy in Yangzhou. Walk leisure along the lake, visit the iconic White Pagoda, Fishing Platform, Small Golden Hill, and enjoy a scenic boat cruise on the lake if in a sunny day. Move on to nearby Daming Temple which was originally built in 5th century. Explore the Buddhist temples, halls, statues while observing monks chanting and praying in the temple, and climb up to Chiling Pagoda to enjoy the stunning panoramic view of Daming temple and Slender West Lake.

Continuing your tour, you will get to the Mausoleum Museum of Han Guangling King which is not far from Daming Temple. Here you will find what is an ancient Chinese king of Han Dynasty (202 B.C.-8 B.C.) like. Being quite different from other mausoleums in China, Guangling King’s mausoleum utilized "Huang Chang Ti Chou" method which uses only wood as building material in complicated structure and decoration, which make it a unique place to research ancient Chinese mausoleum culture.

You will then pay a visit to Ge Garden which is a World Heritage Site and one of the most famous private ancient gardens in China. It was built by a rich salt trader in 19th century who loved bamboo and grew more than 60 kinds of bamboo in his garden. The fantastic usage of rocks is another feature of Ge Garden. Rocks of different types, sizes and colors were used to present landscapes of four seasons in an ingenious way. You can also find many beautiful architectures, pounds, blossoms in the garden. “Ge Garden illustrates the changes on people's taste and way of life in the revolutionary phase of China society from feudal to modern times”, claimed by UNESCO.

Lastly, you will be transferred to train station to catch your departing high speed train to the next destination. Tour ends.

1. This price is for one person, based on a group of 2 adults sharing one standard double-bed room in 4-star hotel and traveling with our private tour in low seasons.
2. This price is subject to change according your traveling season, group size, hotel class, change of activities in your itinerary and possible fluctuation of currency exchange rate. If you want a lower price, you can get more people to join you, or use economy class hotels.
3. This price is only valid to March 31, 2025.
4. Reference exchange rate of USD 1=RMB 7.00. The final quote is based on current exchange rate. It may change according to the currency fluctuation, while the RMB quotation will be remained the same.
