Shenzhen to Guilin/Guilin to Shenzhen Transfer Guide 2024

Shenzhen is located in the south of Guangdong Province, abutting against Hong Kong, and only 620km south of Guilin. Although there is no flight running between them, the developed high speed railways and highways can always transfer you from bustling Shenzhen to the idyllic scenic area in Guilin.

Shenzhen Guilin Flight

There used to be several flights connecting between Shenzhen and Guilin, but they were all cancelled and thereafter replaced by the shuttling bullet trains. If you are used to taking a flight, Shanghai and Xian may be good transferring cities with plenty of flights heading to Guilin, while the fastest flight duration is about 6 hours that's two times of the bullet train's. Namely, for now taking a bullet train is the most comfortable and time-saving method for your transferring from Shenzhen to Guilin.

There are about 6 bullet G trains running between Shenzhen and Guilin, and usually the duration for each train is around 3 hours. All the bullet trains depart at Shenzhen North Railway Station, while arriving at different stations in Guilin. Similarly, all the bullet trains bounding for Shenzhen North Railway Station depart from Guilin North Railway Station, Guilin West Railway Station and Guilin Railway Station. The earliest train to Guilin starts around 7am, and the last one ends by 3pm. For the 6 bullet trains back to Shenzhen almost run between 11am and 6pm.

Shenzhen Guilin Train Stations

Shenzhen Railway Stations

There are two stations in Shenzhen serving trains to Guilin, Shenzhen North Railway Station and Shenzhen Railway Station. The former one is the bullet train station, located in the northwest of Shenzhen, over 30km to the airport and 8km to the city center, while the other is for the normal trains, located in the southeast of Shenzhen, over 40km to the airport and 8km to the city center. Since the distance between the two stations is over 20 km, you may need carefully read your departing/ arriving stations on the ticket. If you need transfer between the two stations, take Metro Line 4 near the lobby of Shenzhen North Station and transfer to Metro Line 1, then get off at Luohu Stop where you only need walk a few minutes to Shenzhen Railway Staion.

Guilin Railway Stations

There are altogether 3 train stations in Guilin. Guilin Railway Station and Guilin West Railway Station are the main stations serving bullet trains to/ from Shenzhen. Besides the bullet trains, there are also 2 normal trains connecting Shenzhen and Guilin. Though the normal train takes more than 13 hours and arrives before dawn in Guilin, the following information is still provided in case that you miss the bullet trains.

Shenzhen Guilin Bus

There are 7 bus stations in Shenzhen serving passengers to Guilin. Although the number of buses to Guilin is great, the different locations and confusing station signs may mislead you to a wrong address, also the ticket price from some certain stations is even higher than the bullet train. The busing duration is normally 3 or 4 times of the bullet train’s.  Considering about your comfortableness and travelling security, Shenzhen Guilin bus is not very recommendable.
