How Far is Huangshan to Xiamen? - Distance from Huangshan to Xiamen
Huangshan Location: Huangshan, a prefecture-level city in Anhui Province. It is located at the junction of Anhui Province, Zhejiang Province and Jiangxi Province. Huangshan is about 400 km away from Shanghai and 240 km from Hangzhou.
Xiamen Location: Xiamen is a sub-provincial city in Fujian Province. Xiamen is a Special Economic Zone in China approved by the State Council. It’s an important central city, a scenic tourist city along China’s southeast coast. Xiamen is about 600 km away from Hong Kong and 650 km from Guangzhou.
Huangshan to Xiamen Distance: Huangshan is situated in the northeast of Xiamen with an estimated driving distance of about 800 km, nearly 10 hours by driving.

High-speed train travel is the most popular way to get from Huangshan to Xiamen. Just 4.5 to 5 hours, you can traverse from splendid Huangshan to elegant Xiamen.
Every day, Huangshan sends about 8 trains to Xiamen. These trains are all G trains departing between 10:00 and 18:30, and arriving on the same day. Thus, it’s very easy to book tickets and experience advanced high speed train travel.
Transfer Advice: Huangshan North Railway Station is about 13km from Huangshan Tunxi International Airport (about 23 minutes), 15km from Huangshan city center (about 32 minutes). Travelling with China Discovery, you can enjoy private pick-up service from the airport and be escorted to the Yellow Mountain Scenic Area directly within 2 hours of driving.

Distance from City Center: about 15 km/30 minutes’ driving to the downtown area
Huangshan North Railway Station is a newly opened High Speed Railway Station. It has greatly strengthened the communication between Huangshan and other cities of China since its opening. Less than 200 miles from there, you can find tourist shuttle buses to the Huangshan Mountain Scenic Area (黄山风景区), Hongcun (宏村), Xidi (西递), etc. The buses make no middle stop along the whole way, saving a lot of traveling time for the travelers. Taxi and public bus lines are also available there.

Location: Center Nature Village, Houxi Country, Jimei District, Xiamen, Fujian (福建省厦门市集美区后溪镇岩内村埔中央自然村 – 厦门北站)
Distance from City Center: about 23 km/35 minutes’ driving to the downtown area
For the High Speed trains travel from Huangshan to Xiamen, 7 out of 8 high-speed trains stop at Xiamen North Railway Station. Xiamen North Railway Station is located about 18km away from Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport. It is equipped with convenient transportation means, including BRT line 1& 6, tourist shuttle bus line 1 & 2, metro line 1 & 4, public buses, taxis, etc.

Transfer from Xiamen Railway Stations to Nearby Attraction/Destinations
There are two train stations in Xiamen, Xiamen Railway Station is located in the city center, Xiamen North Railway Station is located in Haicang District, about 20km away from the city center. Tourists can take private cars, taxis, metro to get around Xiamen, take a ferry to Gulangyu Island and use private drive or public traffic to get to Fujian Tulou in Nanjing and Yongding county.

Air travel is the fastest way to get from Huangshan to Xiamen, which offers you breathtaking aerial view and luggage-free trip. However, currently, there is only 1 direct flight flying from Huangshan to Xiamen every day. All flights are from Beijing Capital Airlines. Depart from Huangshan Tunxi International Airport in the afternoon around 15:30 and arrive at Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport around 17:00. A single one-way flight takes approximately 1.5 hours only.

Huangshan Tunxi International Airport (also known as Tunxi Airport) is in Tunxi District, about 7 km away from downtown city and 66 km away from Yellow Mountain. As the main international airport serving Huangshan and surrounding tourist areas, it is one of the most important transfer spots to Yellow Mountain.

Address: Xiangyun Yi Road, Huli District, Xiamen City (厦门市湖里区翔云一路)
Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport is located in Xiamen downtown, about 12~20 kilometers (half an hour or so by car) to those Xiamen ports to catch a ferry to Gulangyu Island. At the airport, you can ride a taxi to get around. In addition, there are also Airport Shuttle Buses for you to travel between the Terminal 3 and Terminal 4 of the airport and the ferry ports (like Lundu Port and Dongdu Port) and train stations (like Xiamen North Railway Station and Xiamen Railway Station), Xiamen University, etc.

Transfer from Xiamen Airport to Nearby Attractions/Destinations

How to Plan a Huangshan Xiamen Tour
A Huangshan Xiamen tour is usually made together with Fujian Tulou visit in Nanjing and Yongding, and generally takes 6 to 8 days with some wonderful destinations between and nearby them, such as Wuyi Mountain and Fuzhou.
First, spend 2-3 days in Xiamen, use 1-2 days to visit Tianluokeng Tulou Cluster, Taxia Village, etc. to capture Hakka culture and architecture art of earth buildings. Next, take 2 hours’ drive back to Xiamen downtown, spend 1 day visiting Gulangyu Island - Garden on the Sea and Expo of World Architecture, South Putuo Temple and the most beautiful university in China - Xiamen University. And then, take a 4.5-5 hours high-speed train to Huangshan city.
Huangshan Mountain (Yellow Mountain), a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site, is widely believed to be the most beautiful mountain in China. Two days of hiking allows you to visit Yellow Mountain at a leisure pace. If you have more days for your vacation, you can take a half-day visit to Hongcun or Xidi to explore the unique Huizhou-style culture.
