Shanghai Location: Shanghai, the biggest city of China, is located in Yangtze River Delta, east China, facing East Sea to the east and bordering Jiangsu Province to the north and Zhejiang Province to the southwest.

Shanghai Pudong International Airport serves as the key aviation hub for domestic transfer. It is located in Shanghai Pudong New Area, about 30 km (1 hour's drive) to Shanghai downtown. You can get there by metro Line 2 (passing through the Bund, Nanjing Road and super high-rises in Lujiazui area), maglev train, many airport shuttle buses and taxies. Location: Xiangyun Yi Road, Huli District, Xiamen City (厦门市湖里区翔云一路)

Transfer from Xiamen Airport to Nearby Attractions/Destinations
After arrival at Xiamen Airport, you can transfer to Xiamen North Railway Station or Xiamen Train Station to take high speed trains to Nanjing, Wuyishan, Fuzhou, Quanzhou and other cities in Fujian, or take a private car, taxi, airport shuttle bus to travel around Xiamen downtown area, or transfer to ferry to get on Gulangyu Island.

Option 2: Shanghai to Xiamen Train - A Convenient Way of Travel
Train travel has become increasingly popular in China in recent years. Every day, Shanghai sends up to 10 trains to Xiamen, including D bullet trains and G super-fast high speed trains.
Shanghai to Xiamen by High Speed Train
● Train Time: 5.5 hours – 8.5 hours
● Frequency: about 10 trains per day
● From & To: Shanghai Hongqiao Train Station (上海虹桥站) → Xianmen North Train Station (厦门北站)
Nowadays, high speed train travel in China is extremely convenient, comfortable and fashionable. 5.5 to 8.5 hours, you can traverse from international metropolis - Shanghai to the "Garden City" - Xiamen.
Every day, there are about 10 high speed trains leaving from Shanghai to Xiamen. There are 3 G trains leaving at 06:54, 08:15 and 09:23 in the morning, and 7 D trains departing between 06:40 and 09:00, and arriving on the same day. By comparison, G high-speed rail trains are faster than D bullet trains. It takes about 5.5-7 hours by G trains but 7.5-8.5 hours by D trains.

▶ Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station (上海虹桥站)
Location: No.1500, Shengui Road, Minhang District, West Shanghai (上海市闵行区申贵路1500号)
Next to Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station is about 40 mins' drive to Shanghai Museum and 45 mins' drive to Yuyuan Garden. You can take metro Line 10 to Terminal 1 of Hongqiao Airport and then walk a few minutes to Terminal 2. If you go to Pudong Airport, taking a taxi for around 1 hour and 20 minutes is the most convenient way. Location: Center Nature Village, Houxi Country, Jimei District, Xiamen, Fujian (福建省厦门市集美区后溪镇岩内村埔中央自然村 – 厦门北站)
Distance from City Center: about 23 km/35 minutes’ driving to the downtown area
For the High Speed trains travel from Huangshan to Xiamen, 7 out of 8 high-speed trains stop at Xiamen North Railway Station. Xiamen North Railway Station is located about 18km away from the Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport. It has equipped with convenient transportation means, including BRT line 1& 6, tourist shuttle bus line 1 & 2, metro line 1& 4, public buses, taxi, etc.

Location: No. 900, Xiahe Road, Siming District, Xiamen (厦门市思明区厦禾路900号)
Distance from City Center: about 3 km/10 minutes’ driving to the city center
Xiamen Railway Station is closer to the main tourist areas in Xiamen, including Gulangyu Island, Nanputuo Temple, Xiamen Botanical Garden, etc. It’s about 12 km away from the Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport, takes about 20 minutes by car.
