How to Get from Hong Kong to Guilin

Guilin is not very far from Hong Kong. The flight distance between Hong Kong and Guilin is only 483km, but the transportation between the two cities is a little bit complex. It’s necessary for you to know the transportation situation before you start your Hong Kong Guilin tour, or you may encounter some unexpected situations.

There are many ways to get from Hong Kong to Guilin. However, only airplane can take you from Hong Kong to Guilin directly and other transportation tools require you to transfer at Shenzhen or Guangzhou. As always, taking an airplane is the fastest and most convenient way. From Hong Kong to Guilin, the flight time is only 1.5 hours. There are three daily flights usually between Hong Kong and Guilin so you need to book the flight in advance and get to the airport on time. Hong Kong to Guilin via Shenzhen by Bullet Train

There is no direct train commuting between Hong Kong and Guilin. However, you can transfer to Shenzhen first from Hong Kong and then take a bullet train to Guilin from Shenzhen, and it only takes you about 3.5 hours. Considering the whole itinerary, we recommend the following route for you.

From Hong Kong to Shenzhen

Take East Rail Line to Lok Ma Chau station (the checkpoint in Hong Kong), pass Lok Ma Chau to Futian Checkpoint (in Shenzhen), then take Metro Longhua Line to Shenzhen North Railway Station.

From Shenzhen to Guilin

From Shenzhen North Railway Station, you can take G trains(high speed train)to Guilin North Railway Station. There are 3 G trains from Shenzhen to Guilin every day. The train provides first class seat, second class seat and VIP seat.

You can also take high speed train from Guangzhou to Guilin after you take a MTR (Mass Transit Rail) train from Hong Kong to Guangzhou. The running time of the train from Hong Kong to Guangzhou is about 1 hour. And the high speed train from Guangzhou to Guilin only takes you about 2.5 hours to 3.5 hours. There are several ways to get Guangzhou from Hong Kong, and we have chosen the most convenient and easy way for you.

From Hong Kong to Guangzhou

You can also take high speed train from Guangzhou to Guilin after you take a MTR (Mass Transit Rail) train from Hong Kong to Guangzhou. From Guangzhou to Guilin

There are over 30 high speed trains commuting between Guangzhou and Guilin, most of them running between Guangzhou South Railway Station to Guilin North Railway Station or Guilin East Railway Station. For Guilin North Railway Station is located in the city area, you are recommended to take one train arriving at Guilin North Railway Station. The G-trains provide first class seat, second class seat and standing ticket while the D-trains provide first class seat and second class seat. Choose according to you budget and preference. Thanks for your question. The flight schedule of 2018 has not been announced already and might be adjusted in 2018. Usually, there will be at least one direct flight from Hong Kong to Guilin in the morning of Wednesday and Sundays . But if you fail to book one, don’t worry, there are also many Hong Kong-Guilin flights with transfers in Shanghai, Xiamen, etc., which may take about 8~12 hours to get to Guilin. You can also take a train to Shenzhen or Guangzhou from Hong Kong, then go to Guilin by high speed trains which usually takes about 3 hours to arrive at Guilin.

Hi, just checking past history? If there has been any none stop Wednesday or Sunday morning flights from Hong Kong to: Guilin this past January or February of 2017? Also please let us know when would the flights be announced for January and February 2018?

Till today, there was one non-stop flight to Guilin from Hong Kong in every Wednesday and some Sundays during the past January and February. Part of the flights schedules of January of 2018 has been announced. There will be one direct flight in the morning of Wednesday (3rd Jan. & 10th Jan. & 17th Jan.) and Sunday(7th Jan. & 14th Jan.).

You can also book the train ticket online on this website https://english.ctrip.com/trains/ Currently, Shenzhen has 4 high speed bullet trains to Guilin each day. While Guangzhou has more than 37 high speed bullet trains to Guilin each day.
