Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport
Being the fourth-largest airport in China, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport has more than 60 scheduled flights to the major cities in China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Qingdao, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Xian, Lanzhou, Lhasa, Xiamen, Guilin, Kunming etc. The international and interregional flights include those to Hong Kong and Bangkok.
In addition, you can take a flight from Shuangliu International Airport to Jiuzhaigou, one of the popular tourist destinations in Sichuan Province. During the peak season, there are 23 flights to Jiuzhaigou from Chengdu every day, which only take 45 minutes.

Getting around China by train is the most common way to get to the most cities, Chengdu included. There are three railway stations including Chengdu Railway Station, namely North Railway Station, South Railway Station and East Railway Station.
There are also 12 high-speed D-trains departing from North Railway Station or East Railway Station to Chongqing North Railway Station, taking 2 to 2.5 hours on the way. The new D-train is very nice and cheaper than the bus.
North Railway Station
transports thousands of passengers back and forth every day. It connects many major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xian, Lhasa, etc.
East Railway Station
is a new station which is under use from May, 2011. It has 8 scheduled trains with those cities Wuhan, Nanning, Hangzhou, Changsha, Guangzhou, Guiyang, Guilin and Haikou. The Metro Line 2 can help you reach East Railway Station.
South Railway Station
located in Wuhou District, has been built for almost 40 years. At present, this railway station only operates four pairs of trains to and from Panzhihua, Jiangyou, Xichang and Puxiong.

Get Around Chengdu
Currently, Metro Line 1, Line 2 and Line 4 are under operation. It can reach Chengdu South Railway Station and Chengdu North Railway Station by Line 1, and the Line 2 is from west to the east, connectiong Chadianzi Bus Station with the East Railway Station. Taking a taxi is always the most convenient way to get around a city. In Chengdu, 9 CNY is charged for the first 3 kilometers for traveling within 15 km from 05:00 to 22:59, and 1.9 CNY for each subsequent kilometer.
