Option 1: Shanghai to Hengdian by High-Speed Train - Most Efficient

Taking a high-speed train is the most convenient way to travel between Shanghai and Hengdian World Studios. Over 20 daily G, D, and C trains run from Shanghai to Hengdian town, taking around 2-3 hours. These high-speed trains usually depart from three railway stations in Shanghai and arrive at Hengdian Railway Station. Most go from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station from 10:00-20:00, some from Shanghai Songjiang Railway Station from 10:30-16:30, while a few from Shanghai South Railway Station from 16:10-18:00. After getting off the train, you can take a car for 20 minutes to arrive at Hengdian World Studios.

Option 2: Shanghai to Hengdian via Hangzhou - Most Recommended

Most travelers travel to the paradise Hangzhou after their Shanghai visit, and, if having a plan to visit Hengdian World Studios, then travel to Hengdian from Hangzhou, which is 175km (2.5-3 hours by car) southwest from Shanghai and 118km (2 hours by car) northwest from Hengdian.

Step 1 Shanghai to Hangzhou: take a 1-hour high-speed train. Over 250 daily G, D, and C trains are available from 6:00-22:00, departing from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station, Shanghai Songjiang Railway Station and Shanghai South Railway Station, to Hangzhou East Railway Station, Hangzhou West Railway Station, Hangzhou South Railway Station, or Hangzhou Railway Station.

Step 2 Hangzhou to Hengdian:

Option One: take a 1-hour high-speed train + 20 mins by car to the scenic area. More than 20 daily G, D, and C trains are accessed from 6:00-22:50, departing from Hangzhou West Railway Station to Hengdian Railway Station.

Option Two: take a private car for about 2 hours from your hotel in Hangzhou to the scenic area.

Address: No.1 Tiancheng Road, Jianggan District, Hangzhou (杭州市江干区天城路1号); about 9km (25 mins hour by car) from Hangzhou downtown; about 6.5km (0.5 hour by car) from the West Lake.

How to Get to: Take metro Line 1 or 4

Step 1 Shanghai to Yiwu: take a high-speed train for 2-3 hours . 30+ daily G, D, and C trains are available from 7:00-21:00, departing from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station, Shanghai Songjiang Railway Station or Shanghai South Railway Station, to Yiwu Railway Station.

Step 2 Yiwu to Hengdian:

Option One: take a car for 1 hour to reach the scenic area.

Option Two: take a high-speed train for 15 minutes + 20 minutes by car to reach the scenic area. Over 20 daily G, D, and C trains are available during 7:30-22:30, departing from Yiwu Railway Station (义乌站), which is located 8km (0.5 hour by car) from Yiwu Wholesale Market, and arriving at Hengdian Railway Station.

Option Three: take a metro for 45 minutes from Lingyun Metro Station, which is 3km (15 minutes by car) from Yiwu Railway Station, to Mingqinggong Metro Station, which is next to the Palace of Ming and Qing Dynasties scenic area of Hengdian.
