The climate in Zhangjiajie is generally mild all year round, with an average annual temperature of 11.6 to 15 ℃.

The best time to visit Zhangjiajie is between April and October, because the weather is favorable and the scenery is beautiful. February is the coldesst time in a year of Zhangjiajie and its average temperature is about 4.5 ℃. The hottest month is July, with an average temperature of about 27.7 ℃. So it is a perfect place to escape the heat in summer. Zhangjiajie rains a lot, especially in March, April, July, and August. Its annual rainfall ranges from 1200 to 1600 ml.
