Tianjin Binhai International Airport (IATA: TSN)

Location: #1 Airport Road, Dongli District, Tianjin (天津市东丽区机场大道1号)

Tianjin Binhai International Airport (天津滨海国际机场) lies 20 km from the downtown area of Tianjin and 60 km from Tianjin Cruise Port. At present (July 2019), the airport has 180 international and domestic airlines to all together 132 cities such as Xian, Shanghai, Chengdu, Harbin, Xiamen, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Sydney, Los Angles and other major cities at home and abroad.

From Tianjin downtown (Binjiang Road, Heping District): about 20km, 40 minutes by car, 1 hour by bus

From Tianjin Cruise Port: about 60km, 70 minutes by car, 2.5 hours by bus.

Xi’an Xianyang International Airport (IATA: XIY)

Location: Dizhang Town, Weicheng District, Xianyang City, Shaanxi (陕西省咸阳市渭城区底张镇)

Xi’an Xianyang International Airport (西安咸阳国际机场) is actually located in Xianyang city, but you can get to Xi’an downtown conveniently by Airport Shuttle Bus. The airport connects Xi’an with most major cities in China and many cities abroad. So far (July, 2019), there are 62 airline companies running 313 lines covering 171 cities such as Beijing, Tianjin, Chengdu, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Kunming, Chongqing, Nanjing, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Macau, Seoul, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Nagoya, etc.

There are 13 trains a day from Tianjin or Tianjin West Railway Station to Xi’an, Xi’an North, or Xi’an South Railway Station. The earliest one leaves at 01:45 and the last one departs at 19:27. Among the 13 trains, 6 are high speed trains which travel about 6-6.5 hours and all arrive at Xi’an North Railway Station. The other 7 are normal trains and need 15.5-19.5 hours. Tianjin Railway Station (天津站)

Location: #1, Xinwei Road, Hebei District, Tianjin (天津市河北区新纬路1号)

Tianjin Railway Station, also known as Tianjin East Railway Station, is a large-scale transportation junction integrating functions to take railways, metros, buses and taxis, and an important part of Tianjin Railway Hub. As of September 2009, the total building area of Tianjin Railway Station is 185,000 square meters covering 10 platforms and 18 rail tracks. Now it mainly serves Tianjin-Shanhaiguan Railway, Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway, and Tianjin-Qinhuangdao High-speed Railway.

From downtown (Binjiang Road, Heping District): Tianjian Railway Station is actually located in downtown area. You can get to Binjiang Road in 15 minutes’ drive.

From Tianjin Binhai International Airport: about 19km, 40 minutes’ drive.

From Tianjin Cruise Port: about 67km, 80 minutes’ drive.

Travel from Tianjin to Xian Tianjin Railway Station

Tianjin West Railway Station (天津西站)

Location: #1, Xizhan Front Street, Hongqiao District, Tianjin City (天津市红桥区西站前街1号)

Tianjin West Railway Station is one of the five starting stations of Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway, and the largest railway station in Tianjin City. Up to June 2011, the total building area of Tianjin West Railway Station reached 180,000 square meters with a scale of 13 platforms and 26 rail tracks. Now it mainly serves Beijing-Shanghai Railway, Tianjin-Baoding Railway, Tianjin-Qinhuangdao High-speed Railway, Tianjin-Shanghai High-speed Railway, and Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway.

From downtown (Binjiang Road, Heping District): about 8km, 30 minutes’ drive.

Xi’an North Railway Station (西安北站)

Location: Yuanshuo Road, Weiyang District, Xi’an City (陕西省西安市未央区元朔路)

Xi’an North Railway Station, also called Xi’anbei Railway Station or Xian North for short, is the only high speed railway station in Xi’an. It is also one of the largest railway stations in China which covers an area of 533,000 square meters. Xian North Railway Station always acts as a most important transportation hub in high speed rail network. You can take high speed trains from here to most major cities in China such as Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Chengdu.

Xi’an Railway Station (西安站)

Location: No. 44 Huancheng North Road, Xincheng District (西安市新城区环城北路44号)

Xi’an Railway Station is an old railway station with a history of over 80 years. It has a Tang’s style architecture with glazed tile roof and yellow glazed walls. At present, Xi’an Railway Station operates both high speed trains and normal trains to other cities, like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Tianjing, Lanzhou, Dunhuang, etc. The trains to Lhasa from Shanghai and Guangzhou also take a stop at Xian Railway Station, so it is available to take a train from Xian to Lhasa via Qinghai Tibet Railway directly.

How to Get to Xian from Tianjin Port (Cruise Port)

Tianjin Port here refers to Tianjin International Cruise Home Port (天津国际邮轮母港) located at No. 1001 Guanhai Road, Binhai New District, Tianjin (天津市滨海新区观海道1001号). To get to Xi’an, you can transfer to Binhai International Airport or Tianjin Railway Station first.

Tianjin Port (Cruise Port) to Tianjin Binhai International Airport

Tianjin Cruise Port is about 60km from Tianjin Binhai International Airport. If you are independent travellers, it is recommended to take a taxi (about 70minutes, CNY 200) to the airport because you will need at least 2.5 hours and make several transfers to get there by bus.

Tianjin Port (Cruise Port) to Tianjin Railway Station

Tianjin Cruise Port and Tianjin Railway Station is about 67km away. By public transportation, you can take bus 513 to Civil Square Station (市民广场站) first, then take light rail subway Line 9 all the way to Tianjin Railway Station. This process will need about 2.5 hours. If you want to save some time, taking a taxi (about 75 minutes, CNY 200) is also an option.
