Welcome to Chengdu, the hometown of the Giant Panda. Your local guide will meet you at the airport/train station and then escort you to your hotel in a private vehicle. The rest of today is yours to relax in the panda city on your own.
Arrival Ideas: Chengdu is only about 2~3 hours flying from the majority of big cities in China, such as Beijing, Xian, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shanghai, etc. You can also get to Chengdu by high speed trains from Xian (4hrs), Chongqing (1hrs), Guilin (6hrs), Kunming (6hrs), etc.

This morning you will make a stirring visit to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding which is not only the most important panda scientific research center, but also dwelling home for more than 100 Giant Pandas. Walk at leisure through the bamboo framed paths, and closely observe giant pandas of different ages eating bamboos, playing with each other, tumbling, climbing trees, etc. Don’t miss the chance to watch female pandas nursing their cubs in the nursery rooms. There is also a very informative Panda Museum for you to learn more scientific facts about Giant Pandas.
Following the pandas, you will be taken to a hidden spiritual Buddhist temple in the hustling downtown of Chengdu - Wenshu Temple. Marvel at the exquisite Buddhist architecture, soak in the reverent atmosphere, and wander on the peaceful paths.
Chengdu is famous for its relaxing and leisure pace throughout China, which will be proved after a stay in People's Park. Sit down, order a pot of Chinese tea, make a casual chat with your friends and watching locals indulging themselves in different kinds of folk entertainment - napping in a lively tea house, playing mahjong, disco dancing, neck massage, ear cleaning… Next is an impressive trip to the famous Jinli Old Street. Time steals away from you quietly while walking on the lively streets which are full of delicious local snacks, delicate artifacts, interesting folk shows, etc.
Recommended Optional Activities: 1) enjoy a delicious dinner of Sichuan cuisine (or hotpot) at a local restaurant; 2) watch a wonderful performance of Sichuan Opera which includes folk opera, face changing, fire spitting, rolling lights, and other delightful entertainment (usually performs during 20:00~21:30).

- Day 3 High Speed Train to Yibin & Transfer to Shunan Bamboo Forest (B, L)

After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at your hotel and escort you to Chengdu East Railway Station for a high speed train to Yibin City (about 1.5-2 hours’ train experience). Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred from Changning Railway Station to Shunan Bamboo Forest with about 30 minutes' driving. Your guide will help you check in your hotel located in Shunan Bamboo Forest. Take a rest before starting today’s sightseeing.
Shunan Bamboo Forest has been known worldwide for the famous fighting scene in the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, where they flew across the tops of bamboo trees - light as feathers. Besides, Shunan Bamboo Forest is the largest and oldest natural bamboo forest in China and one of the best summer resorts in Sichuan Province. This vast bamboo forest is composed of over 400 different kinds of bamboo, stretching across the mountains and valley, fed by the gorgeous rivers, waterfalls and lakes throughout the park. In this afternoon, you’ll hop on the sightseeing bus to explore along the way. First, take a short visit to Shunan Bamboo Forest Museum to get a basic understanding about the types of bamboo, its culture and diverse artware. Immerse yourselves in Wangyou Valley with green bamboo dancing on the side of road, clear winding stream flowing quietly, bird singing...Here, you’ll truly forget troubles in your mind. Next, arrive at Moxi Lower Station for the exciting 2,742-meter cableway experience to travel through and above the bamboo forest to personally witness how vast and amazing the bamboo forest is. Reach atop for a panoramic view of the bamboo sea and then enjoy a scenic walking on the path made by red sandstone along Feicui Corridor.
After the tour, get back to your hotel. If you like, you can enjoy a spa (optional) in your hotel.

- Day 4 Shunan Bamboo Forest & High Speed Train to Chengdu (B, L)

Wake up in the peaceful morning with good mood. After breakfast, you’ll continue your visit exploring Shunan Bamboo Forest in this morning. Take sightseeing bus to reach “the Pearl of the Bamboo” - Xianyu Cave built along the steep cliff rising above the mists. Walk to Tianbao Cave built in 1862 with 1,500 meters long, 10 meters wide and 20 meters high. Walk through the cave decorated with basso-relieve and fresco while passing 13 gates inside. Next, you’ll enjoy relaxing bamboo rafting experience on the Sea in the Sea, an immense lake which looks like a sea in the green bamboo sea. With crystal clear water and wispy mist, surrounded by verdant bamboo forest with reflections on the water, you’ll indulge yourselves in the tranquility. The following time is to visit Longyin Temple situated at a altitude of 980 meters. Take some steps up to the old temple and catch panoramic view from here. The last spot is to appreciate Qicai Waterfall. Overlook the waterfalls from the viewing platform and you can hear the resonant sounds of water echoing between the hills and long sounds of the beats of drums and the ringing of bells.
After the tour, it is time to end your summer holiday in the Shunan Bamboo Forest. Be escorted to the railway station in Yibin for a high speed train back to Chengdu. Upon arrival, be transferred to your hotel in downtown area, or airport / train station to next destination! Tour ends.
