How to Get to Beijing from Shenzhen

Flights and high speed trains are the two ways we recommend to get to Beijing from Shenzhen. In every an hour on average, there will be a direct flight taking off from Shenzhen to Beijing within 3.5 hours, and the ticket price and flight schedule vary in different season, so the money you need to cost depends. If you would like to enjoy more of the view along the way, you can also choose the comfortable and punctual high speed trains which depart very frequently from about 7am to 8pm, with the duration about 11.5 hours.

Shenzhen Baoan International Airport 深圳宝安国际机场 (IATA: SZX)

Location: Baoan Avenue, Baoan District, Shenzhen (深圳市宝安区宝安大道)

Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport is about 30km away from downtown Shenzhen. Metro Line 1 connects the airport to Luohu of downtown area in 50 minutes. There are several shuttle bus running, but you'd better note down the schedule table so that you won't miss the bus. Taking a taxi will cost you about CNY 150 from airport to downtown.

To Window of the World: about 30km, 40 minutes' drive, or take subway Line 11 to Qianhaiwan, then transfer to Line 1 there, you will need about 40 minutes in total.

To Shenzhen Museum: about 33km, 45 minute's drive or you can take metro line 11 from the airport and get off at Futian, which will take about 50min.

Shenzhen to Beijing Shenzhen Baoan International Airport

Beijing Capital International Airport (IATA: PEK)

Location: Airport West Road, Chaoyang District, Beijing City (北京朝阳区机场西路)

It's the largest airport in Beijing before the completion of Beijing Daxing Airport. Located in the northeast of Beijing, about 30km to the downtown area, Beijing Capital International Airport is easily accessible with multiple airport shuttles, a Airport Metro line which starts from Dongzhimen.

To Forbidden City: about 29km, 1 hour's drive, or take an airport shuttle bus to Dongzhimen Station and take subway Line 2 to Jianguomen then transfer to Line 1 which takes about 1.5 hours.

To Tian’anmen Square (downtown): about 35km, 1 hour's drive, or take an airport shuttle bus to Dongzhimen Station and take subway Line 2 to Chongwenmen then transfer to Line 5 which takes about 80 minutes.

To Temple of Heaven: about 30km, 1 hour's drive, or take an airport shuttle bus to Dongzhimen Station and take subway Line 2 to Qianmen Station which takes about 75 minutes.

Shenzhen to Beijing Train

There are usually 8 daily trains from Shenzhen to Beijing from 7am to 8pm, and most of them are high speed bullet trains, including about 2 G trains (duration: about 8.5 to 11.5 hours), 4 D trains (duration: about 11.5 hours) and 2 normal overnight trains (duration: over 22 hours). All the D trains depart at Shenzhen North Railway Station and arrive at Beijing West Railway Station, while G trains get from Shenzhen North Railway Station or Shenzhen Futian Station to Beijing West Railway Station. Passengers who would like to take the D trains can choose a sleeper, while the D trains are seasonal trains and they may be canceled sometimes, but G trains are more fixed, though they are more expensive and sleepers are not available.

Beijing West Railway Station

Location: No.118, East Lianhuachi Road, Fengtai District, Beijing (北京市丰台区莲花池东路118号)

Beijing West Railway Station is one of the main train stations of Beijing, which runs both high speed trains and normal trains. Besides, it is the starting point of Beijing Guangzhou (High Speed) Railway and Beijing Kowloon (Hong Kong) Railway. If you want to take a Tibet train, you need to go to Beijing West Railway Station. To Forbidden City: about 6km, 30 minutes' drive, or take subway Line 9 then transfer to Line 1 which takes about 45 minutes.

To Tian’anmen Square (downtown): about 8km, 30 minutes, take subway Line 9 then transfer to Line 1.

To Temple of Heaven: about 11km, 30 minutes by driving or taking subway Line 7

To Beijing Capital International Airport: about 38km, 1 hour's drive, or take subway Line 9 then transfer to Line 4, and then transfer to Line 2 to Dongzhimen and take an airport shuttle bus which takes about 75 minutes.

Shenzhen North Railway Station 深圳北站 Pinyin: Shenzhen Beizhan

Location: No. 28 Middle Zhiyuan Road, Shenzhen, Guangdong (广东省深圳市致远中路28号 深圳北站)

To transfer from the downtown or Shenzhen Museum, you could take the Metro Line 4 for about 25 minutes. And if you want to go from the tourist spots like the Window of the World, Splendid China, China Folk Culture Village, and Happy Valley of Shenzhen, just take the Line 1 and Line 4 for about 40-50 minutes. To transfer from Shenzhen Baoan Airport, you need to take the Metro Line 11 and Line 5 for about 50 minutes.

To Shenzhen Museum: about 13km, 30 minutes by car or by metro Line 4.

To Window of the World: about 15km, 30 minutes' drive, or you can take metro line 4 then transfer to metro line 1. The whole trip will need about 1 hour.
