Day 1 Weihai Arrival & Half-day Tour

Welcome to Weihai, a beautiful coastal city. You will be welcomed by local tour guide and driver at Weihai railway station or airport, then take a relaxed Weihai half-day tour to Liugong Island. Currently, you can get to Weihai by domestic flights from Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Chengdu, Xian, etc. of by high speed trains from Qingdao, Jinan, Tai’an and some other cities in Shandong Province.

Facing Yellow Sea and located in the exit of the Weihai Bay of Shandong Peninsula, Liugong Island can only be arrived by ferry from Weihai Tourist dock in downtown. It is an amazing place where spectacular nature and tumultuous history meet. The island is reputed as a fairy isle on the sea' for its great environment, beautiful scenery and various kinds of animals. With forest coverage over 72%, it is also known as a natural oxygen bar. Qiding Mountain (153m) is the highest point of the island. From the historical point of view, Liugong Island has played in vital role in national defense. It is the birthplace of China’s first modern navy, and was the battlefield for the Sino-Japanese War (1894~1895). You can find two huge cannons of the first Chinese German-made Jiyuan cruiser. Archaeological research indicates has been inhabited for over 3000 years. There are many historic and cultural sites to explore on the island, including the ruins of the Warring States Period (475-221 BC) and the European architecture built during Great Britain colonial period from 1898 to 1930. Liugong Island is a family-friendly place too. It will be an interesting memory for your kids to check out the world’s largest specimen sperm whale and encounter with adorable pandas.

After Liugong Island exploration, you will be transferred to your hotel in Weihai downtown. The rest time is free for you to relax and have fun.

Day 2 Weihai Tour & Departure (B, L)

This morning after breakfast, you will go to enjoy a leisure stroll at Weihai International Bathing Beach which is one of the best bathing beaches in China with pure water, soft sand and picturesque scenery. The coastline is more than 2800 meters. Both its western and eastern sides are surrounded by green hills with thousands acres of pine forest. There are amusement parks, water world and other beach amusement facilities around the beach, and many water activities to take part in, such as speedboats, cruise ships, motorboats and sea gliding, etc.

You will then go to visit Chengshantou Scenic Area which is about 1.5 hours' drive from Weihai downtown. Since it is easternmost location of China and connected to Yellow Sea, Chengshantou is also known as "the edge of sky", also the earliest place to see the sunrise at sea. South Korea is only 94km across the sea from here. Due to its stunning scenery, Chengshantou was listed as one of the "eight most beautiful coasts in China" by China National Geography. In bright days, you can see the sea and sky merging into a haze in the distance, huge waves striking the cliffs and rock formations glimmering in sunshine.

Move on to take a boat to see Hailu Island which is a "fairy island" integrating beautiful myths with gorgeous natural scenery. Having been eroded by the indefatigable waves for tens of thousands of years, the island is full of towering peaks and craggy rocks, together with the rising and falling sea wave presents an imposing landscape.

Hailu Island is very popular with photographers especially when hundreds of thousands of seagulls and egrets gather on the island during March ~ June.

After all these wonderful experiences, it’s time to farewell to Weihai. Your tour guide and driver will escort you to catch your flight/train to next destination.

1. This price is for one person, based on a group of 2 adults sharing one standard double-bed room in a 4-star hotel and traveling with our private tour in low seasons.
2. This price is subject to change according to your traveling season, group size, hotel class, change of activities in your itinerary and possible fluctuation of currency exchange rate. If you want a lower price, you can get more people to join you, or use economy class hotels.
3. This price is only valid to March 31, 2025.
4. Reference exchange rate of USD 1=RMB 7.00. The final quote is based on current exchange rate. It may change according to the currency fluctuation, while the RMB quotation will be remained the same.
