First & foremost, we want to commend Vivien Li for her tremendous patience attending to our many queries from mid Nov 2024 right up to 2 weeks before our trip in mid-March 2025 to Guangzhou, Shantou & Chaozhou. We are a group of 5 with ages ranging from 60’s to 80’s. After having spoken to her on a few occasions, she assured us of her utmost efforts to meet our expectations.
We needed someone who is able to understand our concerns and needs and able to give us the confidence that they are able to take care of our needs, all of which Vivien was able to meet.
We had a great vacation in China. For the most part, we achieved our main objective to taste the best of Guangzhou, Shantou and Chaozhou. We also enjoyed the old atmosphere of some districts and the spectacularly new skyscrapers. We imagined how our ancestors from this region traveled far south for new opportunities…
We are most impressed with Fang Ting Hui who guided us in Shantou & Chaozhou. He was personable & professional. He went over & above to take care of us.
We were also very happy with Zhuang Liang Liang who guided us on our first few days in Guangzhou and has a lot of experience.
We do feel that Zhou Mei who guided us in Guangzhou after we returned from Shantou/Chaozhou, may be lacking in experience compared to the other two.
We do have some comments regarding the train arrangements. We felt that there was not much time allocated for the check-in at Guangzhou south rail station. Although Liang Liang helped us go through up until security we have had some tense moments trying to make sure we do not missed the train as time was tight. The station was huge and crowded and it would have helped if we have had detailed written instructions but always better to be early.
Our experience at Chaoshan station was much better, we were there early and it being a smaller station was much easier to navigate.
On the whole we really enjoyed our China trip and would not hesitate to recommend China Discovery services to our friends and relatives.
