Shenzhen to Hong Kong by bus for TWOV?
In order to use the TWOV scheme, the traveller needs to have a ticket for the 3rd region (eg HK) when they board the flight to show immigration border officials. Where it is much quicker to get to my final destination by bus - will the officers take this into account or would I still have to buy a train ticket to HK Kowloon West (and then head back up north to my village)? Family house is about 30-40 minutes from border. The journey from Kowloon West would be an 1 hour to Kowloon and then another 90 minutes coming back(!)

Hi Nick,

Thanks for your question! The situation varies according to the TWOV scheme you are going to apply for (or you have applied), 24-hour TWOV or 144-hour TWOV?

If you are going to make such a transfer from Shenzhen to Hong Kong within 24 hour after landing in Shenzhen, you can take the buses, because all the ports in Shenzhen are suitable for 24-hour TWOV. However, if you are going to have a tour in Shenzhen first (more than 24 hours) and then transfer to Hong Kong, you have to take the buses which can take you to one of the 6 appointed ports to go through the immigration. They are Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, Shenzhen Shatoujiao Port, Wenjindu Port, Huanggang Port, Luohu Port, Shenzhen Bay Port and Futian Port.

If you are interested, you can check more for Shenzhen 144-hour TWOV at:

Wish this helps and wish you a nice day!
