Due to the close distance between Hong Kong and Shenzhen, there is no direct flight running between the two cities, and you are not suggested to make a transfer at other cities. At present, travel from Hong Kong to Shenzhen needs about 15-20 minutes by bullet train, 0.5-2 hours by MTR and metro, 1-1.5 hours (50 km) by car, 1-4 hours by coach and 0.5-1 hours by ferry.

Get to Shenzhen from Hong Kong by Hong Kong MTR and Shenzhen metro is currently the most frequently used way. Convenient Hong Kong MTR East Rail Line is well connected with Shenzhen Metro Line 1 at Lo Wu Station and connected with Shenzhen Metro Line 4 at Lok Ma Chau Station. If you are going to go through the immigration at Futian Port to Shenzhen, you should get off at Lok Ma Chau Station, while you should get off at Lo Wu station if you are going to Luohu Port.
Warm Tip: You can go through the immigration at either Luohu Port or Futian Port. The operation time of the Luohu port is from 06:30-24:00 and from 06:30-22:30 for Futian port.

There are two ferry terminals each in Hong Kong and Shenzhen available for the ferry journey from Hong Kong to Shenzhen. And the terminals in Shenzhen include one inside the Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport and the Shekou Cruise Center. The ferry tickets can be booked within about 30 days prior to the ferry departure.

Inside Hong Kong International Airport, there are coaches to Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport directly, which depart from the airport every half an hour from 07:00 - 19:30. And in Hong Kong downtown area, there are many stops at the MTR stations, from where you can get to Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, Shenzhen Bay Port, Window of the World, Shenzhen North Railway Station, etc. The coach route varies, so you are suggested to have a check about that when you book the coach ticket.
Overall, the best way to go to Shenzhen from Hong Kong is to take the Hong Kong MTR East Rail Line and then change the Shenzhen Metro lines to Shenzhen downtown. The MTR and metro are most frequent.
