Tracy's 3 Days Self-driving Tour to Kangding and Xinduqiao

This is my first self-driving tour, so I decided to start with a nearby place. Luckily, Chengdu was surrounded by many wonderful places. I narrowed it down to Kangding, a small town in Western Sichuan.

We took a sightseeing bus up to the top, and were amazed at the beautiful view. On the way back down, we followed a part of plank road and immersed our ourselves into the natural beauty. It was a truly unforgettable experience.

The following day, we drove along the provincial highway 343, stopping at Tagong Grassland to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. We took a leisurely walk on the green grassland, and marvel at the sight of the snow-capped Yala Mountain (altitude: 5884 meters) in distance.

Finally, we reached Xinduqiao, and paid a visit to the observation platform of Gongga Snow Mountain. Actually, the platform is also located on the mountainside. It was physically-challenging to get to the platform because of the high altitude, but we were grateful for the opportunity to witness such a magnificent sight from the platform.

On the third day, it was time to head back home. Despite feeling a little sad to leave, we were satisfied with the amazing experiences we had during our tour. I knew that this was just the beginning of my self-driving adventures, and I couldn’t wait to see what other beautiful places I would discovery on my future travels.
