Leo's 4 Days Macau Trip from Chengdu

2022 was the last year of the COVID years in China and also the end of pandemic in China. Before the end, we caught a change to visit Macau even there were many requirements like COVID tests etc. We were very happy that we made it to Macau and it's my favorite place. Macau is definitely the place to go if you visit China; we like the food, local people and also the fancy hotels there.

Day 1 Chengdu to Macau Nov. 03

Usually there are many direct flights running by Air Macau from cities in China Mainland to Macau, like Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Nanjing, Zhengzhou etc. There are also some international flights to Macau, like Singapore, Thailand, Japan etc.

You can choose to accommodate in Peninsula of Macao (old part of Macau) and Taipa (new part of Macau), we chose to stay three nights in Taipa (where many fancy hotels located). If you wish to experience more local life, it's better to stay one night in Peninsula of Macao.

Upon our arrival, we checked in the hotel and go outside to enjoy the night view of Macau.

Day 2 Macau Nov. 04

Today we visited the historical sight of the Ruins of the St. Paul Cathedral, which is a gothic church constructed by Portuguese in 1562 and once the largest cathedral in Asia. Now, it is over 350 years old and a World Cultural Heritage Site symbolizing Macau. Observe the designing style and those carvings, patterns, characters, figures, etc., you will find the great combination and collision of the European elements in the Renaissance and the traditional oriental styles.

In the afternoon, we visited the Macau Fisherman's Wharf.

Overall the weather was not good when we visited Macau, but it became much better next day.

Day 3 Macau Nov. 05

Today we decided to go to the old part of Macau to experience local life and find more local food. An amazing day starts with nice breakfast, there are many famous and nice coffee shops nearby. The Pork Chop Bun is a very famous snack in Macau and you must try it if you get a chance.

We spent the rest of today to experience more local food including Portuguese restaurants.

Day 4 Macau to Chengdu Nov. 06

It's time to say goodbye to Macau, we took flight back to Chengdu at noon.

Overall, it was a very nice trip during last three years and I love Macau including local people, food and the life style there. I will visit Macau in the future again.
