Get to/away Chongqing
There are three airports in Chongqing: Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, Chongqing Wanzhou Wuqiao Airport, and Chongqing Qianjiang Zhoubai Airport.
Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport
It is located 20 kilometers away to the northeast of downtown area. At present, over 70 air routes are in operation in Jiangbei Airport, connecting Chongqing with 60 domestic and international cities. You can easily take a flight to Chongqing from Beijing, Xian, Shanghai, Guilin, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Jiuzhaigou, Hong Kong and Taiwan etc. And also take the direct international airplanes to South Korea, Japan, and Thailand.
Chongqing Wanzhou Wuqiao Airport
Wanzhou Wuqiao Airport, formerly known as Wanxian Airport, is about 15 km from the Wanzhou Downtown. The airport is busy with planes coming and going from Wanzhou to many of the biggest cities in China, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Kunming, Nanjing, Xiamen and Xian. Taking a flight to/from Wanzhou is a good choice to begin or end your 3-day Yangtze River cruise between Wanzhou and Yichang.
Jiangbei International Airport
There are two major railway stations in Chongqing city, Chongqing North Railway Station and Chongqing Railway Station, operating five major railway lines. So it is very convenient to go to Chongqing from all over the country especially from Chengdu. The daily bullet G trains need only 1.5 to 2 hours to get to Chongqing North Station from Chengdu East Station, while D trains only take about 2 to 2.5 hours from Chengdu East to Chongqing North. The high speed trains are available from 06:44 till 21:40, and there are 49 departures every day for your easy choice.
Chongqing North Railway Station
Located in Longtou Temple, Yubei District, Chongqing City. This train station served mainly for high speed trains to / from / via Chongqing is now the busiest railway station in Chongqing city. You could take a bullet train to get to this Mountain City from Xian (7 daily trains during 07:30~15:33, for about 5 hours), Wuhan (32 daily trains during 06:40~15:56, for about 6-7.5 hours), Changsha (3 daily trains during 09:14~10:58, for about 8.5 hours), Zhengzhou (2 daily trains during 11:57~13:45, for about 8.5 hours), Nanjing (13 daily trains during 06:58~11:44, for about 9-10.5 hours), and even some farther but top hot destinations in China, such as Beijing (one G309 at 08:23, for about 12 hours 12 minutes), Shanghai (6 daily trains during 06:04~09:30, for about 10.5-13 hours), Guangzhou (3 daily trains during 02:28~08:10, for about 11-11.5 hours), Hangzhou (4 daily trains during 07:34~09:35, for about 12-12.5 hours), Suzhou (4 daily trains during 06:46~10:03, for about 10.5-12.5 hours), Xiamen (2 daily trains during 07:39~08:14, for about 14.5 hours), Shenzhen (one G1312 at 07:38, for about 12 hours), and so forth to admire the most highlighting culture, history, sceneries, art and more essences in China.
To Chaotianmen Port to get on your Yangtze River cruise, you could take a taxi for about 45 minutes, which rides about 12 kilometers. And you could take the local Transit Rail Line 3 / Line 6 / bus 105, etc. to Chongqing downtown area, and it would need about 35 minutes by driving. To go to Ciqikou Ancient Town, you could take the Transit Rail Line 3 and transfer to Line 1 to get off at Ciqikou Station, for about 1 hour.
Chongqing Railway Station
Chongqing Railway Station situated at Ciayuanba area in Yuzhong District in Chongqing is also called Caiyuanba Railway Station. This station at present is mainly used for normal K trains and T trains from the nearby cities, regions and other Chinese cities, such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Kunming, Guiyang, Shenzhen, Xining, Urumqi, Harbin, Nanning, and so on.

Get around Chongqing
The taxis in Chongqing are yellow. Normally the base price is 8 Yuan for the beginning 3 kilometers (about 2 miles) and CNY1.8 for each additional kilometer. The rate from 22:00 to 06:00 is slightly higher. Usually, a short journey within 10 kilometers (about 6.miles) costs no more than 30 Yuan.
