Lanzhou to Urumqi High Speed Train Schedules, Fares and Stations

Lanzhou Urumqi High Speed Train Route

Lanzhou Urumqi High Speed Railway, which is also known as Lanxin (Lanzhou- Xinjiang) High Speed Rail, is the first long-distance high speed railway for exploration along ancient Silk Road. It also enjoys a reputation of “steel silk road”. The whole Lanxin High Speed Rail measures about 1777 km (1105 miles). High Speed Trains along the rail pass Xining (Qinghai), Zhangye (Gansu), Jiuquan, Jiayuguan, Hami (Xinjiang), Turpan, and finally reach to Urumqi. The traveling time of the High Speed Trains varies from 11.5 hours to 12 hours, which is about 12 hours faster than the normal trains.

Lanzhou West Railway Station

Location: No.197, Xijinxi Road, Qilihe District, Lanzhou, Gansu (甘肃省兰州市七里河区西津西路197号 – 兰州西站)

Lanzhou West Railway Station is not the only railway station of Lanzhou, but it is the mainly used High Speed Railway Station, especially for the High Speed Trains travel to Urumqi. Lanzhou West Railway Station is located about 10 min’s driving to the Gansu Provincial Museum. Metro line 1, Metro line 2, taxi and more than 15 bus lines are available there. Lanzhou Railway Station

Location: Huochezhandong Road, Chengguan District, Lanzhou, Gansu (甘肃省兰州市城关区火车站东路 – 兰州站)

Lanzhou Railway Station is the oldest railway station of Lanzhou. Though metro line 1 is expected to open in 2019, there are Intercity High Speed Trains connect Lanzhou Railway Station and Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport, and more than 20 bus lines connect there with the city. Currently, Lanzhou Railway Station enjoys the all normal trains (trains named after T, K, and Z) and only one High Speed Train (D55) connecting with Urumqi. Urumqi Railway Station

Location: No.1, Gaotiebeiliu Road, Economic and Technological Development Zone, Urumqi (新疆维吾尔自治区乌鲁木齐市经济技术开发区高铁北六路1号 - 乌鲁木齐站)

Urumqi Railway Station is the largest railway station and transportation hub in Xinjiang. It is located about 20 min’s driving to the Giant Buddhist Temple and 23 min’s to Water grinding ditch scenic area (Red Mountain included). The waiting hall of Urumqi Railway Station is above the rail lines, making it easy to get to the platform. Most of the connecting buses depart/arrive at the North Square. Urumqi South Railway Station

Location: No.135, Nanzhan Road, Shayibake District, Urumqi (乌鲁木齐沙依巴克区南站路135号 - 乌鲁木齐南站)

Urumqi South Railway Station is the former Urumqi Railway Station. Its name was changed in 2014. It mainly provides service for High Speed Trains departing from Urumqi Railway Station and reaching to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Kunming, Chengdu, Xining, Wuhan, Hangzhou, Lanzhou, etc. Thus, Most of the High Speed Trains and normal trains stop both at Urumqi Railway Station and Urumqi South Railway Station. 28 bus lines are available there, by which you can get to Red Mountain, Giant Buddhist Temple, etc.

Class of Ticket

Usually, there are three kinds of tickets are provided on high speed trains, Business Class Seat, First Class Seat and Second Class Seat.
