This morning you will make a memorable visit to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. This facility is not only the most important panda scientific research center in the world, but also the home for more than 100 Giant Pandas. You will walk at leisure through the bamboo-framed paths and closely observe giant pandas of different ages eating bamboos, playing with each other, tumbling, and climbing trees. Be sure to not miss the chance to watch female pandas nursing their cubs in the nursery rooms! There is also a very informative Panda Museum where you can learn more scientific facts about Giant Pandas. Next, you will be taken to a hidden spiritual Buddhist temple in hustling downtown Chengdu, Wenshu Temple, where you will marvel at the exquisite Buddhist architecture, soak in the reverent atmosphere, and wander on the temple’s peaceful paths.
Chengdu is famous throughout China for its relaxing and leisurely pace and lifestyle, which will be demonstrated by a visit to the City’s Renmin Park. Sit down, order a pot of Chinese tea, have a casual chat with your friends and watch locals indulging themselves in different kinds of folk entertainment - napping, playing mahjong, disco dancing, and giving neck massages! Next will be an impressive visit to the famous Jinli Old Street. Time will steal away as you quietly walk on the lively streets full of delicious local snacks, delicate artifacts, interesting folk shows, and other activities.
Optional Activity: In the evening, watch a wonderful performance of Sichuan Opera which includes folk opera, face changing, fire spitting, rolling lights, and other delightful entertainment (usually performs at 20:00~21:30).
In the morning, you will drive about 2 hours to Leshan City to see the famous World Heritage Site at Leshan Giant Buddha. The Giant Buddha was carved from the mountain rock, with its head reaching to the mountain top and its feet standing next to the river. The total height is 71 meters, while the head is 14.7meters high and 10 meters wide, and ears are 7meters high. Its insteps can hold over a hundred people. You will enjoy the spectacular view of the huge statue as you walking down through the narrow staircases to the foot of the Buddha.
Built during AD 713~803 and sitting in the open air, why the Giant Buddha has been preserved so well? The reason is its extraordinary design. There is a delicate and invisible drainage system which played an important role in protecting the Giant Buddha from corrosion. Among the 18 layers spiral coils on the Buddha head, the 4th layer, 9th layer and 18th layer have one cross drainage; the drainage from the left side in front of the chest is connecting to the back drainage of the right arm; there are caves on the back side (the side near the mountain) connecting the two ears. These caves and drainages have composed the scientific drainage, moisture proof and ventilation system. That's why the Buddha statue still keeps its original appearance and structure so well after more than 1,200 years erosion of water, wind, sunlight and other harmful natural factors.
After visiting the Giant Buddha, drive 30 minutes to Mount Emei and visit Baoguo Temple, the biggest temple of the mountain. Stay overnight at the foot of Mount Emei.
After breakfast, begin your Mount Emei adventure. You will firstly take an eco-bus in the Scenic Area to Leidongping where you will hike to Jieyin Hall to take a cable car up to the top of Mount Emei - Golden Summit (altitude: 3077 m). At the highest peak of the mountain, you will be amazed by the awe-inspiring view of Huazang Temple and witness the breathtaking sea of clouds if it’s sunny. Next, go down the Golden Summit by cable car and take eco-bus down the mountain.
As one of the Four Great Buddhist Mountains in China and the ashram for Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, Mount Emei is reputed for its profound Buddhism culture and it’s the Buddhist sacred place in China. There are 28 temples in the mountain at present, many Buddhist ceremonies are held here. The mountain is also famous for its stunning natural scenery. Wild forests and flowers can be seen everywhere. The average temperature difference between the mountain top and mountain foot is 14℃, thus people always say there are four seasons in Mount Emei. There are many monkeys in the mountain, and they often flock together to ask for tourists’ food, and this has become one of the features of Mount Emei. (Note: since the monkeys are wild, and some times may loot foods from travelers, you'd better pack all your stuffs inside the bag, especially foods and fruits)
After the tour, you’ll be driven back to Chengdu.
Today after breakfast, your tour guide will escort you to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport to catch your flight to Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport. Upon your arrival the airport, the local guide will meet you at Jiuhuang Airport and escort you to visit Huanglong National Park.

At the top(3990m) of the valley lies the best highlight - Five-Color Ponds consisting of 693 ponds of different sizes, shapes, colors, just looking like beautiful emeralds.

In China, there are myriads of souvenirs for visitors, and each city has its own specialty.
Some of the best buys are:
Bargains are not acceptable in big supermarkets and department stores. But in some night markets or tourist shops, you can bargain for a lower price, since the vendors always ask for very high price for a certain item. You’d better ask the opinion of the guide first, and then the guide will tell you the real value and quality of the item. Please note that when the bargain is processing, the guide will be hesitate to help as it may annoy the bosses. Just try to let the guides know you will bargain in advance.
If you do not need something from them, just do not ask for price. Some of the venders are very persisted, and if they keep selling things to you, you can simply say “No, thanks.” (Chinese pronunciation: ”Bu, XieXie”). If they do not give up, you just keep silence. Silence is sometimes useful to handle this situation.
