In the morning, your guide and driver will
pick you up at your hotel. After a two-hour drive from Chengdu, you’ll reach Leshan Giant Buddha, the largest carved
stone Buddha in the world. Sitting at the confluence of three rivers, the
71-meter Big Buddha was carved on the cliff of Lingyun Mountain, used to calm
the turbulent waters. Observe Giant Buddha in different angles and have careful
look at his head, hair, ears, nose, eyes, shoulders, body, hands, feet, etc.
Get down from Nine Bend Plank Road, look up the Big Buddha and pray in front of
him. If you like, you can extend to Lingyun Temple and Wuyou Temple to rich
your Buddhism journey.
After visiting the Big Buddha, go ahead to
Mount Emei, one of the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains in China. It takes 30
minutes from Leshan to Emei Mountain by road. You’ll pay Buddhism visit to Baoguo Temple, the biggest temple of
Mount Emei at the mountain foot. It has several serene gardens with rare
plants, a library of sutras and a huge porcelain Buddha. Another famous
historical relic is the 25-ton bronze Bell, reputedly the second largest bell
in China. While traveling deeper into the temple, you can have different views
of Mount Emei.
