What to Wear & Pack in Beijing in February

Though not as freezing as January, it is still recommended to wear padded overcoat, down coat, padded trousers, woolen sweater, cotton boots, gloves, hat and scarf to keep the cold out. It is fine to only wear a sweater when you stay indoors because most houses are installed with heating equipment. But when you go out, don’t hesitate to put all your winter outfits on. 1. Chinese New Year (the first day in Chinese lunar calendar) usually falls in late January or early February. During that time, some shops and restaurants may be closed because people are at home for family reunion. This grand festival will last half a month.
