Beijing Capital International Airport Shuttle Bus Lines & Timetables

Located at northeastern corner of Beijing between 4th Ring Road and 5th Ring Road, Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) operates about 15 shuttle buse lines for passengers to transfer between the airport and Beijing downtown area. These buses usually run for 24 hours with various routes and time tables with intervals around 30mins~60mins. Passengers can get to most part of Beijing within 1.5 hours by the shuttle buses. But kindly know that the shuttle buses are mainly responsible for transporting passengers to the districts of Beijing instead of city's attractions, such as Dongcheng District(东城区), Xicheng Districtt(西城区), Chaoyang District(朝阳区), Haidian Districtt(海淀区), etc. The shuttle buses ticket fares are ¥20/¥25/¥30, varing by routes and distance you go. The Capital International Airport also operates several bus lines to Beijing's nearby small cities, such as Tianjin, Zhangjiakou, Qinhuangdao, Baoding, etc.

Though not as time-efficient as the Express Train and taxi, the Airport Shuttle Buses offer covers much more areas of the city, including Fangzhuang, Beijing South Railway Station, Beijing Station, Gongzhufen, Zhongguancun, Olympic Village (Shangdi), Beijing West Railway Station, Huilongguan, Tongzhou, Jinbao Street (Wangfujing), Shijingshan, Yanjiao and Changping, etc.

Go to Dongzhimen To Take Tourist Buses

Dongzhimen Bus Station is the most important bus station to take buses to Beijing downtown nearby attractions and destinations. From Dongzhimen, one can take buses to Great Wall, Chengde, etc. If you want to take public buses to Great Wall directly after arrival at the airport, you can take Shuttle Bus Line 3 at T3, T2 or T1 to Dongzhimen first.

To Get Closer to City Center Areas (inside 2nd Ring Road)

The area inside the 2nd Ring Road is the most developed area as well as the most touristy area in Beijing. More than a half of Beijing's hotels are located in this area. Besides, most of the landmark attractions of Beijing, such as Forbidden City, Tian'anmen Square, Temple of Heaven, Jingshan Park, Hutong, are also located in this area. Currently the shuttle bus usually can not transport you to attractions and hotels in the central Beijing directly. You may need to change to subways, public bus or taxi after shuttle bus ride. But it will help you to save some money if you take shuttle bus Line 2, 3, 7 or 10 to get closer to the attraction or the hotel you want to go first, then change to other transportation tools.

Go to Beijing Train Stations

If you want to transfer to the railway stations in Beijing to catch a train to other destinations, shuttle bus is the best option which is cheap, efficient and reliable. You can take shuttle bus Line 3 to get to Beijing Railway Station (about 1hr), take Line 10 to Beijing South Railway Station (about 1.5hrs), and take Line 7 to Beijing West Railway Station (about 1.5hrs). These three railway stations are the last stops of above 3 shuttle bus lines.
