Day 1 Beijing Arrival

Welcome to Beijing, the capital of China, rich in history and culture.

Your lifetime China tour begins with welcome from your local guide at the Beijing airport. Then be escorted to your hotel in a private vehicle. The rest of today is yours to acclimatize or explore the vast metropolis on your own.

Day 2 Beijing ( B, L )

Today's tour begins to visit the Tiananmen Square, the world's largest plaza. Walking through Tiananmen Gate, you'll enter the splendid Forbidden City (Palace Museum), China's No.1 palace complex adorned with imperial treasures.

In the afternoon, you'll marvel at the Summer Palace the largest and best-preserved imperial garden in China, the next 'must see' site after the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. In the evening, we arrange you a fantastic Kungfu Show and learn some Chinese martial art culture in advance.

After the tour, you’ll be escorted to your hotel, and the rest of today is free for yourself, and the Houhai area is recommended for hanging out.

Day 3 Beijing ( B, L, D )

After breakfast, drive about 70km to witness one of the Seven Wonders of the World - the Great Wall. Visit the Mutianyu, a less crowded yet well-preserved segment of the Great Wall built in the Ming Dynasty. It will more than live up to all of your expectations! You’ll take a cable car to ascend the Great Wall, then hike the most beautiful and interesting part of Mutianyu and climb up its rising towers to enjoy scenic views of the wall as it wriggles along mountain ridges and you take brag-worthy photos. After the exciting time, descend by cable car. (Note: If energy permits, you can hike up or down which takes about 40 minutes to climb steps. Please tell your likes to your travel consultant.)

Continue your trip to Sacred Way, a 7-kilometer-long passage leading to the Imperial Tombs of 13 Emperors of Ming Dynasty. The Emperor, known as the Son of the Heaven, who came from Heaven to his country through the Sacred Way, also would return to Heaven through this road. Take a walk through the largest archway in China and Great Palace Gate and you’ll see the magnificent stone guard of 12 sets of mythical animals and 12 officials. Then drive back to Beijing city and take a short stop at the Beijing Olympic Village to view its famous Bird’s Nest and Water Cube from the outside.

Optional activity: After the whole day’s tour, treat yourself a great dinner to taste the famous Peking Roasted Duck at Quanjude.

Day 4 Beijing & Overnight Train to Xian ( B, L )

Today after breakfast, you'll visit the Temple of Heaven, where the emperors worshipped heaven and prayed for peace and harvest.

After the tour, you’ll be free at your leisure until your guide escorts you to the Beijing train station, and take the overnight train T151 (17:49 – 07:16), heading to Xian, the ancient heart of China.

Day 5 Xian (B, L)

Upon your arrival, you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel in Xian.

Today your first stop is to join the ranks of the incredible Terracotta Warriors, the forbidding sentinels of a death defying emperor, starting out through the silent millennia of history.

In the afternoon, visit the Ancient City Walls, the largest and best-kept city walls on earth. Strolling and cycling on the Walls is quite an enjoyable experience. Today’s tour ends to visit the age-old Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the symbol of the old-line Xian, a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists.

After today’s tour, you’ll be treated with a local flavor – dumpling dinner, while enjoying the Tang Dynasty Show in the evening.

You’ll be escorted to your hotel after the programme.

Day 6 Luoyang Arrival (B, L)

Today after breakfast, you’ll visit the Shaanxi Provincial Museum and the Muslim community before your guide escorts you to the Xian Railway station for the High-speed Rail Train (one and a half hour) to Luoyang.

Upon arrival, you’ll be escorted to your hotel in Luoyang, and the rest of today is free for your own discovery.

Day 7 Kungfu Tour ( B, L )

Today after breakfast, you’ll be driven (1 hr) to Dengfeng to a Shaolin kungfu martial arts school to take a morning class with local student monks; Then visit the Shaolin Temple to learn about the history of Shaolin Kungfu; contemporary Buddhist music and martial arts evening show

After the tour, be driven (1 hr) back to hotel in Luoyang.

Day 8 Overnight Night Train to Chengdu (B)

After having breakfast, be driven (40 mins) to and explore the Longmen Grottoes. You’ll be escorted to the train station for the overnight train to Chengdu after the White Horse Temple visit.

You’ll take an about 21 hrs’ train ride from Luoyang to Chengdu, and have a real Chinese train experience along the way.

Day 9 Chengdu Arrival (L)

Upon Chengdu arrival, you’ll be met and escorted to your hotel, and have a rest. Then head to visit the Wenshu Temple, where you can spend some time sitting in its tea house enjoying a cup of traditional Chinese tea and absorb the special atmosphere of Chengdu and Jinli Old Street.

Recommended paid add-on show: Sichuan Opera is an important part of Chengdu culture. Besides the normal singing, and martial arts, Sichuan Opera has many unique features that set it apart, features such as fire breathing, changing faces, and juggling pottery. When enjoying the performance, visitors always amaze at different facial make-ups that are changed fast and mysteriously.

Day 10 Chengdu & Flight to Shanghai (B, L)

Today you will first have a visit to the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base. Then our local guide escorts you to the airport for your onward flight to Shanghai.

Upon arrival at Shanghai airport, you’ll be met and taken to have an 8-minute high-tech Maglev Train. It’s not a bird or a plane, just Shanghai’s Maglev Train, the world’s fastest train running 430km/hr. Your driver is ready to pick you up at the Longyang Road station, and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of today is at your leisure.

Note: The Maglev Train time is 09:45--21:42, please kindly make sure if your arrival time is able to take it or not.

Day 11 Shanghai (B, L)

After breakfast, you’ll visit the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center, a must-see for all true Shanghainophiles to witness how Shanghai became a cosmopolitan city from a shabby fishing village. Continued is a tour the beautiful Yu Garden, a pleasant enough,well-contained classical Chinese garden, and savor some local flavor snacks at the Yu Garden Bazaar.

Then you'll head to the Jinmao Tower to get an amazing bird’s eye view of this metropolis. Later you will pay a visit to the Silk Factory to learn Chinese silk culture.

Day 12 Shanghai Departure (B)

After breakfast, you’ll visit the famous Bund to witness Shanghai’s skyline, and stroll along China's No.1 shopping street, Nanjing Road.

After the tour, be transferred to the airport for your flight to next destination or back to home.
