“CCOTC’s Yangtze 1”
As part of a three-week circle tour of China, our itinerary included a 4-day cruise downstream from Chongqing to Yichang along the renowned Yangtze River aboard the MV Yangtze 1, classified as a 5-star cruise ship.
Unlike other boats, this one has the Oriental motif everywhere. Nice touch. My room had A/C, heater, fridge, TV as well as a large picture window. Meals are offered buffet-style. And there's a karaoke bar and restaurant upstairs. Hot water (for DIY soups or tea) is available from the bosun.
A unique experience on its own. Try it at least once.
Thought I would just post something about the Yangtze cruise we just did. The river cruise itself was just wonderful. So lovely relaxing cruising along the river and seeing the views. We were on the Yangtze 1 Cruise boat and we were impressed with it. Though the cabins are not big but for 3 or 4 days this is fine. We did have a very small balcony to sit at and watch the world go by.
Going through the locks was very interesting and the sights during the day are wonderful. If you are doing this cruise take some food on board with you.
“M.S. Yangtze 1 Cruise”
Previously traveled 2 months in China; this trip decided to do the top tourist destination - Yangtze River cruise. I suppose if you are on a 2-3 week trip, it is something that should be done.
They got the job done, and the service was reasonably good. It does not compare with the larger cruise lines, though. This boat was older and not as nice as ones we saw from Century and Victoria, though had an advantage of being smaller so we didn't have to take a bus further down the river to reach the larger boats. A functional balcony that was nice. Food on the boat was adequate. We did not bother with the optional excursions, though did enjoy the two provided with the cruise.
