Yangtze Gold 8 Cruise Reviews

“A nice way to see a more rural part of China and the dam”

As part of our China tour we took a cruise on the Yangtze Gold 8 from Chongqing to Jingzhou. The checkin on the boat was relatively easy but the pushing and cutting in line could have been avoided by better crowd controls. The cabin was comfortable and was larger than I would have expected, and decently appointed. The entertainment was cute, and the staff was very professional and polite. It was very nice to be able to stay in one place and not have to pack and unpack for a few days. We were able to see a lot of nice scenery and sites along the way.

“Beautiful River Cruise”

We took a four day Yangtze River cruise on Gold 8. The ship was like a mini cruise ship. It had a beautiful lobby. The rooms were larger than on a regular cruise ship. The shower was a great size also. The food was good, but there could have been a little more variety. Wifi in lobby or bar only, and it was very spotty.

Yangtze Gold 8 Cruise Reviews

“First experience for us on a cruise and loved it.”

Yangtze Gold 8 ship is beautiful. We spent 4 days/5 nights on board on their 3 Gorges tour. The rooms were comfortable, though the beds hard (Chinese style). However the staff quickly put quilts under the sheets which softened them perfectly. The food was average, but varied, with breakfasts far and away the best meal - a good choice of Chinese and Western. I was surprised at the number of people eating Western at lunch; there was a reasonable choice for them. The river was always interesting. The 3 gorges are only a small part of the cruise. Fascinating to see, but so is watching the life of the rest of the river.
