Li River Hiking

Besides the boat cruise, hiking is another best way to explore the beauty of Li River. Walk leisurely along the riverside to see the beautiful countryside landscape, see some unique and authentic local custom, or take some interesting water activities. The whole hiking takes about 5~6 hours to finish.

Detailed Hiking Route

The old Yangdi to Xingping hiking route below is no longer available now because some of the ferry crossings needed when hiking from Yangdi to Xingping have been closed due to a purpose of ecological protection. You are advised to visit the picturesque Yulong River and enjoy hiking there!

The best recommended hiking route is the 10km’s walking from Yangdi to Xingping on which you can not only enjoy a leisure hiking but also witness some breathtaking sightseeing. Firstly, you need to get to Yading with an hour’s driving. After arrival at Yangding, your hiking starts with a ferry transfer across the river. Then you will hike about one hour on the left bank of Liver until get to Langshi Village. Stop for a while, and enjoy the fabulous scenery around the village. Continue your hiking ahead, you need to cross the river again to the right bank of Li River, walk for a while, and then cross river for the third time to the left bank of Li River at Lengshui Village. Keep walking until get to the final stop – Xiping. On route, don’t miss some of the famous attractions: Apple Rock, Xialong Scenery, Immortal Riding on the Back of Rooster, Nine Horse Fresco.
