No.1: Pagoda Forest
Location: 300 meters west of Shaolin Temple
Pagoda Forest, one of the solemn places in Shaolin Scenic Spot, is the biggest Monks Cemetery in the world with about 250 pagodas. These pagodas only have levels of odd numbers (1,3,5,7) up to 15 meters, with various shapes of square, round, rectangular, etc. which embodies the deceased’s status and achievement before his death in Buddhism. Carrying profound Buddhist history, the Pagoda Forest also shows the exquisite architectural style of stones with elegant sculpture.

Location: the center of Shaolin Scenic Spot
As the core area of Shaolin Temple tourist attractions, Shaolin Temple Complex is the place where large-scale ritual activities take place and the living accommodation of monks. It contains seven courtyards, followed by the Mountain Gate with a plaque of “Shaolin Temple” Characters, King Hall, Daxiong Hall, Fatang, Abbot Room, Li Xue Pavilion and Qianfo Hall, all listed in the World Heritage in 2000. Location: 1.3 km northwest of Shaolin Temple
Chuzu Temple is a cluster of small ancient buildings, built in Song dynasty to commemorate Bodhidharma. Lie in the quietness surrounded by pine and cypress trees, it is composed of Mountain Entry, Main Hall and Qianfo Cabinet with over 40 inscriptions preserved. Although small, this temple still attracts tourists to find its ingenious building style of wood structure and the unique appearance in the architecture.
