Lanzhou is a very important stopover on Ancient Silk Road and Chengdu is the world famous "Home of Giant Panda". Conveniently, there is 1 daily bullet tain (D trains) running from Lanzhou to Chengdu within 7 hours. But the former train travel is about 11.5 hours to 12.5 hours long. The trains used are newly-developed green Fuxing Trains, and stop at only one station - Guangyuan Station (广元站) on the way.
Train D762 leaves Lanzhou Train Station at 07:11am in early morning and gets to Chengdu at about 14:01pm, while Train D764 departs from Chengdu East Railway Station at 14:41 pm and arrives at Lanzhou Railway Station at 21:33pm, with a duration of less than 7 hours. By the new bullet trains, tourists can have a panda tour to Chengdu and nearby destinations in Sichuan, after finished exploration on the Silk Road in northwest of China.
