Kunming Beijing High Speed Train Route

Kunming Beijing High Speed Railway is a significant combined railway connecting Kunming, Yunnan with Beijing, from southwest China to north China. Measuring about 2,760km (1,715miles) in length, the rail line begins from Kunming South Railway Station, spreads continuously on Shanghai Kunming High Speed Railway to Changsha, and then heads northward to Beijing West Railway Station in Beijing via the north-south Beijing Guangzhou High Speed Railway. The line cuts train travel time between Kunming and Beijing from 44 hours to less than 11 hours. Tourists can also take the railway and transfer to Shanghai and Hangzhou from Changsha.

Kunming South Railway Station (昆明南站)

Location: Xiangyuan Street, Chenggong District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province (云南省昆明市呈贡区祥园街)

Kunming South Railway Station is a newly-built large high speed train station in Kunming. Connected by Shanghai Kunming High Speed Railway, Yunnan Guangxi High Speed Railway and other lateral rail lines in south China, the station runs more than 100 high speed trains to major tourist cities, like Shanghai, Xian, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Guilin, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Guiyang, Nanjing and etc. Siting at southeast suburb Kunming, the station is 50mins’ driving distance from downtown, 1.5 hours’ driving distance from Stone Forest, 4 hours’ driving from Dongchuan Red Land and 40 minutes’ driving from Dragon Gate. Tourists can take local bus, taxi, subway (Line 1) and airport express (Line 919K from Kunming Changshui International Airport) to get to the station or transfer to city center, hotel or scenic spots. Beijing West Railway Station (北京西站)

Location: No.118, East Lianhuachi Road, Fengtai District, Beijing (北京市丰台区莲花池东路118号)

Opened in early 1996, Beijing West Railway Station once was the biggest railway hub in Asia. It is the departure station of Beijing Guangzhou High Speed Railway, Beijing Lhasa (Tibet) Railway and Beijing Kowloon Railway. Now it also connects Beijing Railway Station by the city underground diameter line within 15 minutes. Passengers can take the most advanced high speed trains and normal speed trains from here to Xian, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Taiyuan, Lanzhou, Zhengzhou, Kunming, Guiyang and much more domestic destinations. Class of Ticket

There are three kinds of tickets are provided on high speed train from Kunming to Beijing, Business Class Seat, First Class Seat and Second Class Seat. Second Class Seat is the most budget level you will share a row space with other passengers. And the First Class of Seat is more comfortable and quiet for those who prefer a good rest on the way. Book, Collect, Alter and Cancel

Foreign tourists can book train ticket online or ask help from ticket agency, or buy the tickets physically at the train station with your valid passport. After collecting the tickets, please read carefully about the train number, departure date and station to make sure you won’t miss the train. Baggage Allowance
