Jinan is the provincial capital city located in the northwestern part of Shandong Province, bordering Binzhou in northeast, Dezhou in northwest, Taian and Laiwu in south and Zibo in east. Qingdao is located in the southeastern part of Shandong Province, bordering Yantai in north, Weifang in west and the Yellow Sea in east and south. The distance between Jinan and Qingdao is 365 km (227 miles). It is available to travel Jinan to Qingdao by train or driving directly.
Jinan to Qingdao High Speed Train – Most Recommended Way

Taking high speed train is the most efficient and comfortable way to travel from Jinan to Qingdao. There are about 70 daily high speed trains running from Jinan to Qingdao, including over 55 G-trains and over 15 D-trains. Usually, the G-train takes about 2 ~ 4 hours and the D-train takes about 2.5~3.5 hours. Compared with the normal trains, the high speed trains feature in fast speed, spacious facilities and big windows for sightseeing. Most high speed trains from Jinan to Qingdao also pass through Zibo and Weifang, two other tourist destinations in Shandong.

Jinan to Qingdao Normal Train - Most Budget Transfer

Apart from high speed trains, there also more than15 normal trains departing from Jinan to Qingdao, taking 3.5 ~ 5.5 hours. For travelers with limited budget, you can have a normal train journey as well. Besides, some normal trains depart at night and early morning, and you need a night trip. Please note that it is much crowded and noisier than high speed train.

Location: No.19 Chezhan Street, Tianqiao District, Jinan City, Shandong Province(山东省济南市天桥区车站街19号.
Jinan South Railway Station is only 3.5 km (15 minutes' drive) from Baotu Spring Park and less than 3 km from Daming Lake, nearly 7 km (25 minutes' drive) from Thousand Buddha Mountain, 12 km (40 minutes' drive) from Shandong Museum, 36 km (1 hours' drive) from Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport. It can be reached by metro Line 1 and many public buses
▶ Jinan West Railway Station (济南西站)
Location: No.6 Qilu Avenue, Huaiyin District, Jinan City, Shandong Province(山东省济南市槐荫区齐鲁大道6号)
Jinan West Railway Station is 18 km (30 minutes' drive) from the city center (Baotu Spring Park), 20 km (1 hour's drive) from Shandong Museum, about 15 km (40 minutes' drive) from Thousand Buddha Mountain and about 46 km (50 minutes' drive) from Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport. Jinan West Railway Station can also be reached by metro Line 1 and many other public buses.
▶ Daminghu Railway Station (大明湖站)
Location: No.1 North Minghu Road, Tianqiao District, Jinan City, Shandong Province (山东省济南市天桥区明湖北路1号).
Daminghu Railway Station is a small railway station located in downtown area, about 3 km (15 minutes' drive) from Baotu Spring (city center), just 500 m (less than 10 minutes' walking) to Daming Lake and 35 km (50 minutes' drive) from Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport. It can be reached by metro Line 3 (passing through Olympic Center) and many other public buses.
▶ Qingdao Railway Station (青岛站)
Location: No.2 Taian Road, Shinan District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province (山东省青岛市市南区泰安路2号).
Qingdao Railway Station is just located in the city area, only 700 meters (10 minutes' walk) from Zhanqiao Pier, 7 km (30 minutes) away from Qingdao Beer Museum, 8 km (0.5 hour's drive) away from May Fourth Square, 30 km (70 minutes' drive) away from Laoshan Mountain. You can easy get there after your sightseeing in nearby attractions by metro Line 3 (passing through Zhongshan Park, May Fourth Square, Qingdao North Railway Station, etc.) or other public buses.
▶ Qingdao North Railway Station (青岛北站)
Location: No.1 Jingle Road, Licang District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province(山东省青岛市李沧区静乐路1号).
Qingdao North Railway Station is 18 km (about 1 hour's drive) away from May Fourth Square, 19km (about 30 minutes) away from Zhanqiao Pier, 7 km (30 minutes' drive) away from Qingdao Beer Museum and 28 km (about 70 minutes' drive) away from Laoshan Mountain. In Qingdao North Railway Station, you can take metro Line 3 (passing through Zhongshan Park, May Fourth Square, Qingdao Railway Station, etc.) and many public buses to different corners of Qingdao.
Jinan to Qingdao Drive - Long Distance Bus & Private Driving
There are daily long-distance bus from Jinan to Qingdao. Both Jinan Guangchang Bus Station (济南广场汽车站) and Jinan Changtu Bus Station (济南长途汽车站) operate long distance bus to Qingdao. The whole bus journey cost 4.5 ~ 5 hours usually, regardless of traffic congestion. In order to have an efficient journey with comfortable environment and freedom to walk or eat, we strongly suggest you take a high speed train instead of long-distance bus. If you are interested in private driving journey, you can rent a private car with driver. It is available to drive from Jinan to Qingdao via Zibo and Weifang, so you can take as stop to visit Great Wall of Qi Dynasty, Ancient Qi City Relics Museum, Weifang Kate Museum, etc.
