Beijing Guangzhou High Speed Train Route

Fully opened in 2012, the Beijing Guangzhou High Speed Railway is a 2298-kilometer long railway between Beijing and Guangzhou in China. Starting from Beijing West Railway Station, this rail runs north-south direction via 6 provinces, containing Beijing, Hebei, Henan, Hubei, Hunan and Guangdong Provinces. Travel time about 8 hours to 10 hours, and serving passengers transport and tourism in Beijing, Shijiazhuang, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, Changsha and Guangzhou, where you can transfer to other destinations, like Xian, Shanghai, Hangzhou and so no. This line will connect the future high speed rail between Futian (福田) in Shenzhen and West Kowloon (西九龙), offering greater convenience for Hong Kong travel.

Beijing West Railway Station (北京西站)

Location: No.118, East Lianhuachi Road, Fengtai District, Beijing (北京市丰台区莲花池东路118号)

Beijing West Railway Station is one of the main train stations in Beijing, handling both normal trains and high speed trains. It is linked by Beijing Guangzhou High Speed Railway, Beijing Kowloon Railway, and Beijing Lhasa (Tibet) Railway, and operating about 200 high speed trains (second-largest after Beijing South Railway Station) to Xian, Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, Guangzhou, Taiyuan, Changsha, Lanzhou, Guiyang, Shenzhen, Zhuhai. It lies about 1 hour’s driving to Beijing Capital International Airport and 25 mins to Palace Museum. To get to the station, you can take a taxi, especially for those who i are with big luggage and don’t know the location well. Still, the station has airport shuttle bus with Beijing Capital Airport, and is connected by local subway, Metro Line 7 and Line 9, both you can use to transfer to downtown and scenic spots on your travel list. Guangzhou South Railway Station (广州南站)

Location: Shibi Street, Zhongcun Town, Panyu District, Guangzhou (广州市番禺区钟村镇石壁街道)

Guangzhou South Railway Station is one of the four major train stations in Guangzhou, which is located about 1 hour’s driving to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and 40 mins’ driving to Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. It serves as the largest and busiest high speed train station in south China, a comprehensive traffic junction serving mainly for high speed trains. And the station is linked by Beijing Guangzhou High Speed Railway, future Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High Speed Railway, Guangzhou Zhuhai Intercity Railway, Guiyang Guangzhou High Speed Railway and some other rails. Guangzhou South Station is connected to its city areas via subway system on Metro Line 2 and Line 7, local public bus, taxi and long-distance coach. Currently, there is no airport bus shuttling between Guangzhou Airport and Guangzhou South Railway Station.

Class of Ticket

There are three kinds of tickets are provided on high speed train from Beijing to Guangzhou, Business Class Seat, First Class Seat and Second Class Seat. Book, Collect, Alter and Cancel

Foreign tourists can book train ticket online or ask help from ticket agency, or buy the tickets physically at the train station with your valid passport. One thing you should remember is to book the ticket as early as possible, especially in peak tourist seasons. After collecting the tickets, please read carefully about the train number, departure date and station to make sure you won’t miss the train. Baggage Allowance

China train travel with luggage is much easier than taking flight, for you don’t need to check luggage separately.
