Beijing Pingyao High Speed Railway, at a distance of 606 kilometers, is a short-distance high speed railway connecting Beijing and Pingyao. This rail line is joined by three different sections, including the Beijing Shijiazhuang High Speed Railway (京石高铁) of Beijing Guangzhou High Speed Railway, Shijiazhuang Taiyuan High Speed Railway (石太高铁) and Datong Xian High Speed Railway (大西高铁). Beginning from Beijing West Railway Station, the route travels about 4 hours to Pingyao via 3 provinces, Beijing, Hebei and Shanxi Provinces and stops at 6~7 midway stations, and eventually goes to Yuncheng or Yongji City in Shanxi. Beijing West Railway Station (北京西站)

Beijing West Railway Station is located in No.118, East Lianchi Road, Fengtai District, Beijing (北京市丰台区莲花池东路118号), about 25 mins’ driving to Forbidden City and 1 hour’s driving to Beijing Capital International Airport. It is one of the five major stations in Beijing, serving for high speed trains as well as normal slow trains. The station is an important terminal for the Beijing Guangzhou High Speed Railway, Beijing Kowloon (Hong Kong) High Speed Railway and Beijing Lhasa (Tibet) Railway. There are about 270 trains (180 high speed trains) running from this station to different destinations via the three lines, like Xian, Chengdu, Chongqing, Lhasa, Urumqi, Lanzhou, Kunming, Guiyang, Changsha, Zhengzhou, Taiyuan and so on. Pingyao Ancient City Railway Station (平遥古城站)

Pingyao Ancient City Station, once was called Pingyao East Station, is located in Houji Village, Pingyao County, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province (山西省晋中市平遥县候冀村), about 8km (20 mins' driving)to Pingtao Ancient City, 3km to Shuanglin Temple and 120km (1.5 hours' driving) to Taiyuan Wusu International Airport (the nearest airport). Built as a specialized high speed train station on Datong Xian High Speed Railway, Pingyao Ancient City Station operates about 34 high speed trains (G trains & D trains) to Beijing, Xian, Chengdu, Chongqing, Lanzhou, Qingdao and Jinan, and prefecture-level cities in Shanxi Province, like Taiyuan, Baoji, Linfen and Yuncheng. Pingyao Anicent City Station is well-connected with Pingyao Railway Station (平遥站) and Pingyao Ancient City by local bus No.108. The bus leaves every 15 minutes from 7:00 am to 20: 30 (in summer) or 20:10 (in winter).And you can also get to Pingyao Ancient City by taxi, which takes around minutes.
