Guiyang Guangzhou High Speed Railway is a high speed rail linking the Southwest China with the Pearl River Delta. With a total length of 857 kilometers, this rail passes three provinces, including 207.5 km in Guangdong Province, 348.5 km in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and 301 km in Guizhou Province.
The line runs from Guangzhou through Foshan, Sanshui and Zhaoqing in the densely populated Pearl River Delta and heads northwesterly to the famed scenic cities of Yangshuo and Guilin and then continues to Sanjiang. The line enters Guizhou at Congjiang and passes Rongjiang, Sandu, Duyun to Guiyang in the center of Guizhou Province. It runs at an average speed of 250 km/h that the travel time between Guiyang and Guangzhou is about 5 hours.

Stations in Guizhou Province: Guiyang North Railway Station (贵阳北站), Guiyang Railway Station (贵阳站), Longli North Railway Station, Changming Railway Station, Duyun East Railway Station, Sandu Railway Station, Rongjiang Railway Station, Congjiang Railway Station;
Stations in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region: Sanjiang Railway Station, Wutong Railway Station, Guilin North Railway Station (桂林北站), Yangshuo Railway Station, Gongcheng Railway Station, Zhongshan West Railway Station, Hezhou Railway Station;
Stations in Guangdong Province: Huaiji Railway Station, Guangning Railway Station, Zhaoqing East Railway Station, Sanshui South Railway Station, Foshan West Railway Station, Guangzhou South Railway Station (广州南站).
There are and 3 daily G trains and 21 daily D trains running from Guiyang to Guangzhou during the daytime. G trains include G2924 (10:12-14:28), G2034 (16:24-20:45) and G2928 (17:34-21:53). It takes about 4 hours and 20 minutes. From 08:00 to 18:03, there is 1-3 D trains leaving Guiyang North to Guangzhou South in every hour, with a duration of 4 hours 11 minutes - 5 hours and 50 minutes.
Also, there are 3 G trains and 21 daily D trains running from Guangzhou to Guiyang during the daytime. These G trains are G2932 (07:54-12:15), G2926(08:36-12:58) and G2922(16:07-20:26). Frequent D trains are available to send you from Guangzhou South to Guiyang North.The earliest D2804 departs at 07:06 and arriving at 12:44 while the last D train depart at 18:15 and arriving at 23:24.
Guangzhou South Railway Station
Basically, first class seat (four passengers in a row) and second class seat (five passengers in a row) are available on Guiyang Guangzhou high speed train. The first class seat is more comfortable than the second class seat and hence the price of the first class seat is a little more expensive than the second class seat. Along Guiyang Guangzhou high speed railway, travelers can make stop in the famous tourist destinations, like Guilin, Yangshuo, Sanjiang, Congjiang, Rongjiang, Sandu, Guiyang and Foshan.
Guilin & Yangshuo: It takes about 2.5 hours from Guiyang to Guilin and 2 hours and 45 minutes from Guangzhou to Guilin. “East or West, Guilin scenery is the best”. In Guilin, visit the famous Elephant Trunk Hill and Reed Flute Cave. Explore the karst landscape starting with a relaxing sightseeing cruise along the Li River from Zhujia Pier to Yangshuo. In Yangshuo, walk leisurely on ancient West Street and take side trip to the idyllic countryside.
Sanjiang: It takes about 2 hours from Guiyang to Sanjiang and 3.5 hours from Guangzhou to Sanjiang. Sanjiang is inhabited by the Dong people in eight traditional Dong minority villages. Inside the village, you’ll see traditional many wooden houses, drum towers, the Wind and Rain Bridges and Dong people in ethnic dresses.
Guilin Li River
Congjiang: From Guiyang to Congjiang by high speed train, it only needs 1 hour and 40 minutes. Congjiang has many ethnic groups including Maio, Dong, Zhuang, Yao and Shui. Travelers should not miss Baisha Miao Village to China’s last tribe of gunmen, Xiaohuang Dong Village which is famous for Kam Grand Choirs, Zhengchong Drum Tower to view China’s Oldest Drum Tower. If time permits, head to Jiabang Rice Terrace with clouds and mist.
Rongjiang: It needs 1 hour and 20 minutes from Guiyang to Rongjiang by high speed train. Cover the first Dong village under heaven – Chejiang Dong Village and enjoy Dong grand song in Zaidong Dong Village and pay a visit to short skirt Miao village – Kongshen Miao Village…
Guiyang: As the capital of Guizhou Province, Guiyang is regarded as the gateway to many destinations of Guizhou, like Huangguoshu Waterfall, Tunbao Village in Tianlong, Qingyan Ancient Town, Miao and Dong villages in Qiandongnan.
