Guangzhou is the capital and largest city of Guangdong Province in South China. It is one of the most importation transportation hubs in South China, well linked with the nearby cities like Shenzhen, Dongguan, Hong Kong, Macau, Foshan, etc. There are two main high speed rails - Guiyang Guangzhou High Speed Rail and Beijing Guangzhou High Speed Rail making transfer to Guangzhou easier.
There are totally over 1,000 high speed trains (including G trains, D trains and C trains) running from/to Guangzhou. From Guangzhou, travelers can take high speed trains to Shenzhen, Guilin, Guiyang, Beijing, Xian, Wuhan, Changsha, Nanning, Shanghai and more cities in China.

Railway Stations: Guangzhou South - Guilin West / Guilin North / Guilin, Guangzhou - Guilin West / North
Distance: 446km (277 miles)
Duration: about 2.5 hours
Only 446km away from Guangzhou, Guilin is featured in its beautiful karst landscape. In Guilin, you can amazingly admire the natural beauty of China, especially mountains and rivers. There are about 47 high speed trains running from Guangzhou to Guilin, including 5 G-trains and 42 D-trains. All G-trains and most D-trains depart from Guangzhou South Railway Station and arrives at Guilin West Railway Station. From 08:00 to 15:29 usually, you can easily take one in every 30 minutes. The travel time for D trains and G train are almost the same. Apart from D3764 and D3762 which need about 5 hours, other high speed trains take only 2.5 ~ 3 hours. Travelers can choose yours which suit for your schedule.

Guangzhou is an elegant modern city offering a glimpse of China’s city life while Guiyang is famous for its ethnic culture. A high speed train tour combining the two cities will leave you a sweet memory. Some trains also take a stop at Guilin, so you get an opportunity to savor the karst scenery along the road. There are over 30 high speed trains transferring from Guiyang North Railway Station and Guiyang East Railway Station to Guangzhou Railway Station and Guangzhou South Railway Station. Taking about 4.5 hours, you can travel between Guiyang and Guangzhou.

Beijing Guangzhou high speed railway is one of the busiest railway as well as one of the longest high speed railways in China. It passes through several capital cities and tourist destinations, like Beijing, Shijiazhuang, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, Changsha, etc. There are about 5 daily high speed trains running from Guangzhou to Beijing and all of them are G-trains. These high speed trains depart from Beijing West Railway Station and arrive at Guangzhou South Railway Station. Taking a Beijing Guangzhou High Speed Train, travelers can reach Shijiazhuang within 1 hour, Zhengzhou within 4 hours, and Wuhan within 6 hours and Changsha within 7 hours.

Guangzhou and Shenzhen are two economic centers in Guangdong. There are many people shuttling between them for business and travel. The frequent high speed trains make a Guangzhou Shenzhen journey convenient and comfortable. There are over 190 pairs of high speed trains running between Guangzhou and Shenzhen, including over 100 pairs of high speed trains between Guangzhou South Railway Station and Shenzhen North Railway Station. Most of the high speed trains are G-trains and C-trains. Usually it takes about 1 hour to travel between Guangzhou and Shenzhen by high speed trains and the fastest needs only 29 hours.

After your exploration in Guangzhou, it will be a good idea to travel to Hong Kong to catch an international flight. Guangzhou Hong Kong High Speed Railway, also called Guangzhou Shenzhen Hong Kong High Speed Railway, is the first high speed railway connecting Hong Kong under construction. Guangzhou Shenzhen High Speed Railway has been taken into operation in 2015. The railway between Shenzhen and Hong Kong is predicted to be completed in late 2018. After its operation, traveler can travel between Shenzhen and Hong Kong within 50 minutes directly.
There are four train stations serving high speed trains, including Guangzhou South Railway Station, Guangzhou East Railway Station and Guzhoug Railway Station. Among the four, Guangzhou South Railway Station and Guangzhou East Railway Station are most frequently-used.
Guangzhou South Railway Station, located in Shibi Village, Shibi Street, Panyu District, Guangzhou (广州市番禺区石壁街石壁村), 17 kilometers south of central Guangzhou. Travelers can take Subway Line 2 to Guangzhou city center. There are G trains from Guangzhou South to Shenzhen, Guiyang, Changsha, Shanghai, Beijing, Xian, Chengdu, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Chaoshan, Yueyang and C trains to Xinhui, Zhuhai and D trains to Guilin, Nanning, Liuzhou, Beihai Sea and more places.
Guangzhou East Railway Station, also known as Tiange Station, is located in No. 1 Dongzhan Road, Tianhe District, Guangzhou (广东广州天河区东站路1号). It is about 10 kilometers away from the city center. It serves C trains to Shenzhen and D trains to Chaoshan. Subway Line 1 and Line 3 are linked Guangzhou South with other places in Guangzhou. Chaoshan.
