Guilin also has 1 High Speed Train traveling to the modern city Shanghai. Generally, the only daily High Speed Train departs at Guilin Railway Station at 11:45 and arrivals at Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station at 21:15. Compared with the flights which take about 2.5 hours, the High Speed Train can give you a unique and freely experience with a cheaper ticket price but longer travel time.

Guilin and Xian are two definitely different tourist cities. Guilin is widely known for its picture-perfect scene of unspoiled nature, while the top historic city Xian, the capital city of Shanxi Province, is the home to world-famed Terracotta Warriors and Horses and as the start point of Silk Road. High Speed Train is also available between them. At present, only 1 pair of High Speed Train connects Guilin and Xian (D1710/D1709). The D1710 travels from Guilin Railway Station at about 11:00am in the morning, while arrives at Xian North Railway Station at 10:00pm in the evening. The D1709 departs from Xian North Railway Station at 9:00am in the morning and arrives at Guilin Railway Station at about 7:30pm.

As the capital and gateway city of Yunnan Province, Kunming is undoubtedly covered in the High Speed Train network of China. Generally, there are 8 pairs of High Speed Trains (G, D trains) traveling between Guilin and Kunming, including 3 High Speed Trains that arrive at Dali finally. The earliest High Speed Train departs from Kunming South Railway Station at 7:38am.

Every day, there are 15 high speed trains running from Guilin Train Station to Changsha South Railway Station. To catch the earliest one, you could choose G539 which departs at 06:53 and arrives in Changsha at 10:17. Other trains are available from the morning to the late afternoon. It only takes about 3.5 hours from Guilin to Changsha, saving about 3.5 hours than taking the normal K-trains.
