Beijing Capital International Airport is one of China’s busiest international gateways. Situated in Shunyi District, it lies about 25~30 km northeast of downtown Beijing, typically a 40 to 60 minute drive, depending on traffic. Beijing Daxing International Airport is the newer of Beijing’s two main airports and one of the largest in the world. Located about 45 kilometers south of central Beijing, it typically takes around an hour by car to reach the city center. The airport is known for its striking starfish-shaped terminal and advanced design. While it sits farther from the heart of the city than Capital Airport, it’s well connected by high-speed rail, metro, and shuttle buses, making travel to and from the airport convenient and efficient.

Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport is the main airport serving Xiamen and one of the busiest in Fujian Province. It’s located on Xiamen Island, about 16 kilometers from the city center around Zhongshan Road, which takes roughly 20 minutes by car. Gulangyu Island, a popular tourist spot, is around 18 kilometers away and can be reached in about 1.5 hours by airport shuttle and ferry. While there’s no metro station at the airport, travelers can take airport buses or the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) system for convenient access to the city.

Most visitors prefer to spend 2-4 days covering the highlights of Xiamen City and surrounding. They usually spend one day visiting the best attractions in the city area including Gulangyu Island, South Putuo Temple, Zhongshan Road, etc. And enjoy 1-2 days to Fujian Tulou clusters in Nanjing and Yongding to see the famous earthen buildings listed as World Cultural Heritage.
