4 Days Beijing Great Wall Plus Tour from Tianjin Cruise Port

Full Itinerary Day by day

Day 1 Tianjin Port Pick Up - Half Day Beijing Tour (L)

Our English speaking tour guide and driver will meet you at around 8:30am in Tianjin International Cruise Port, then escort you to train station to catch a high speed bullet train to Beijing. You will arrive at Beijing after about 30mins' ride, then be picked up by our Beijing local tour guide and driver at the railway station. An authentic local lunch will be offered after the railway station pick up.

After lunch, set out for today's exciting Beijing tour activities. Start to explore the historical face of Beijing with a brief visit to Tiananmen Square which is now the largest city plaza in the world. Tiananmen Gate on the northern square was the site where the Chairman Mao announced the establishment of the People's Republic of China. Stepping into the Tiananmen, you will see one of the world’s 5 most important palaces – Forbidden City, a huge palace complex of more than 9,000 rooms where 24 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties used to live in. Pass through various doorways to admire the magnificent and well preserved buildings decorated with yellow glazed tile roof, white marble base and splendid colorful paintings. After Forbidden City exploration, take a short visit to Jingshan Park where you can get a nice shot of one watchtower of Forbidden City and take a panoramic view of Forbidden City. After that, you will be taken to South Gong & Drum Alley (Nan Luo Gu Xiang) Hutong which still keeps the entire checkerboard-style traditional residential arrangement of hundreds years ago. There are also some great restaurants, boutique bars and souvenir shops located here.

Evening activity is a to enjoy a delightful Kung Fu show to trace the history of Chinese Kung Fu at Red Theatre between 19:15~20:15. Lastly, you will be escorted to check in your hotel in Beijing.

Day 2 Beijing - Jinshanling/Simatai Great Walls Tour ( B,L )

After breakfast, it's free for you to have fun until your tour guide and driver pick up you at your hotel at around 10:30am. It's not necessary to depart very early because you will visit Simatai Great Walln at around 7pm in the evening, then stay a night at the foot of the Great Wall instead of returning back to the city.

After about 130km's (2h and 15 mins) driving, you will arrive at the foot of Jinshanling Great Wall. This section of Great Wall is believed as the best essence of all sections of Great Wall, also the paradise for great wall hiking lovers. It is one of the best preserved sections of Great Wall which is featured in steep mountains, ornate and dense towers. After entering the check-in office, you will walk about 20 minutes to the western section of Jinshanling Great Wall, near to Gubeikou Great Wall. Your hiking starts at Zhuanduo Tower, walk eastward with the up walls snaking on the hills to the eastern edge. On route, you have chance to see some featured towers, such as General Tower, Large Jinshan Tower, Flower Tower, Corner Tower, etc. You’re hiking takes about 4~5 hours, and stops at East Tower with Five Holes where you will get off the wall. 

After dinner around 7pm when the Simatai Great Wall is lit up all along the ridge of the mountain, your guide will accompany you to take the cable car up to the wall to enjoy the magnificent night views. Currently only the section between towers No.5 and No.6 is open to tourists for the night tour. You will stay around 1 hour on the wall, then take cable car down the wall and go to check in your hotel at Gubei Water Town. The evening time is free for you to wonder leisurely in the town.

Day 3 Gubei Watertown - Beijing ( B, L )

Wake up in the peaceful morning of the Gubei Watertown. After breakfast, your tour guide will take you to explore more features of the watertown. Built at the foot of Simatai Great Wall, Gubei Water Town is the northeast gateway of Beijing. It used to be an important military site and attracted numerous literati and hosted more than 3 emperors in the Ming and Qing Dynasty. Now it is becoming a popular resort for photographers and foodies.

After the leisure time in Gubei Watertown, you will drive back to Beijing, and visit the famous royal garden - Summer Palace on route. It is located at the northwestern outskirts of Beijing. Spend some enjoyable time in the Summer Palace, the largest and best-preserved royal garden in China. Stroll around ancient pavilions, mansions, temples, bridges and corridors. Feast your eyes on the vast lotus in Kunming Lake and the colored paintings in Long Corridor.

The last place to visit for today is the imperial site - Temple of Heaven. Located at the central downtown of Beijing, the Temple of Heaven was originally used to pay homage to Heaven and pray for harvest, now becomes a bustling place for locals to take part in traditional activities, such as Tai Chi, dancing, kite flying, water calligraphy, etc.

Day 4 Beijing - Tianjin Departure ( B, L )

After breakfast, you will be picked and transferred to catch an early high speed train back to Tianjin. Once arriving at Tianjin, be greeted by local tour guide and driver, and start today's Tianjin city exploration.

You’ll first take a visit to the most eye-catching building in Tianjin - the Porcelain House (China House) which is the most eye-catching building in Tianjin. It is a private museum decorated with about 400 million pieces of ancient Chinese ceramic chips and over 13,000 ancient Chinese porcelain vases, plates and bowls. Inside the house, you can see many art works of paitings made by porcelain pieces and decorated on the walls and ceilings. Later, move on to the Five Great Avenues (Wudadao Area), including Chengdu Dao, Munan Dao, Machang Dao, Dali Dao and Chongqing Dao. Taking a carriage or walking along the streets, you can see over 2,000 beautiful examples of Italian, German, French, Spanish and British architecture with different style mixed in with old Chinese villas that showcase the modern history of China.

The lunch will be a fantastic Dim Sum lunch at Riverside 66. After lunch, go to enjoy a leisue stroll on the Tianjin Ancient Culture Street, where you can enjoy the special architectural styles, take folk crafts, and taste the delicious local snacks. Don’t miss Yangliuqing painting gallery and painted clay sculpture of Clay Figure Zhang and Tianhou Palace in the middle of the Ancient Culture Street. Move on to last attraction of today - Tianjin Eye which is a 120-meter tall giant ferris wheel built over the Haihe River. Not being as famous as the London Eye, but it is the only ferris wheel in the world built on a bridge, providing an interesting 30-minute ride in an air-conditioned car encircling the wheel.

Lastly, you will be escorted to return to your cruise ship at around 5pm. Our service ends.

1. This price is for one person, based on a group of 2 adults sharing one standard double-bed room in 4-star hotel and traveling with our private tour in low seasons.
2. This price is subject to change according your traveling season, group size, hotel class, change of activities in your itinerary and possible fluctuation of currency exchange rate. If you want a lower price, you can get more people to join you, or use economy class hotels.
3. This price is only valid to March 31, 2025.
4. Reference exchange rate of USD 1= RMB 6.45. The final quote is based on current exchange rate. It may change according to the currency fluctuation, while the RMB quotation will be remained the same.
