Hi Wonder,

I am writing to give feedback on the Yangtze Cruise.

Chaotianmen Port

I hope the municipal government would look into improving the facilities at the port.

We went to the port in two taxis. The driver of our taxi seemed not sure about the directions to the port.

The driver of the second taxi asked my niece to use her google to find the directions to the port. So perhaps better signages will help the drivers to find their way better.

The facilities at the port need to be improved. Passengers are required to walk down many steps ( more than 30 steps) and then they have walk along rickety planks to get to the ship. It will very difficult for seniors to do so.

The cruise

The four of us enjoyed the cruise. the crew, servers and housekeeping staff are polite, efficient and helpful.

The food served at the meals is good and ample. There was variety as both Chinese and western food was served. The dishes were not repeated.

The show put up by the cruise director and crew members were enjoyable.

The ship lift optional tour

Large number of passngers from various ships joined this activity. There was lots pushing by some passengers to get to the front of the ship to watch as the ship was entering the ship lift. A free photograph was included in the ticket and this caused a chaotic situation as many passnegers pushed to their way to front to be photographed. I was standing behind the photographer and the guy had shout endlessly to get the passengers to line up. Somebody pushed and his tripod fell to the ground. Luckily his camera was not damaged. A scuffle even took place between a lady and a couple. Bad language was used. Four female security officers had to restrain the lady.

My suggestion is to do away with free photography so that there is less pushing.

I am including the programme for the last day so that you can advise your customers about the duration of the optional tour on the last day. We stayed one night in Yichang. If not we would not make it for the afternoon train.

I will definitely recommend this cruise to people I know. It’s value for money. I would refer them to you to book the cruise.
