1. Huangshan (Yellow Mountain)
Huangshan, also called Yellow Mountain, is among eastern China’s greatest sights, which is famous for the grotesque rock formations, seas of clouds, strangely shaped pine trees and hot springs. Its staggering landscape has left an indelible impression on Chinese paintings, both in black-and white and in color.

The Huangshan Scenic Area is a mountainous area of 154 square kilometers with hundreds of peaks and thousands of ravines. The compactness means you can see more mountain scenery for less walking. Also the sunrise and sunset over the Yellow Mountains is a must-see that you don’t miss on a Huangshan tour.
2. Tunxi Ancient Street
Located in the center of Tunxi old city, Tunxi Ancient Street is a well-preserved street with the architectural styles of the Song (960-1279 A.D.), Ming and Qing Dynasties. While wandering along the narrow pavement, you will be easy to rest and attain mental tranquility by the simple and elegant atmosphere.

3. Xidi and Hongcun Ancient Villages
Located in Yixian County, Xidi and Hongcun Villages are the most representative local-style residences in southern Anhui Province, listed ad World Heritage Sites by UNESCO in 2000. With over 900 years’ history, Xidi Village is a museum of the local residence in ancient time. You can appreciate kinds of exquisite carvings on door frames, lattice walls, columns and beams in the halls. Encircled by green hills, the whole village, like the residences, the lanes, and the streams flowing through combine together harmoniously.

Lying about 10 kilometers northeast of Yixian County, Hongcun Village enjoys the reputation of 'a village in the beautiful Chinese picture' because of its location at high altitude and being shrouded by clouds and mist. It has about 137 Ming and Qing style residences. Built with pink walls and black tiles, all the residences are better arranged.
Best Time to Go
Huangshan is suitable for travel all year round for it has four distinct seasons with seasonal beauties. The scenic area has a mountain climate, which means it is colder and wetter than the surrounding area below, and the temperatures are lower at higher altitudes.

Spring is from March to May, when it is mostly rainy, misty and cloudy. You can enjoy brilliantly blooming flowers and fresh air during the spring. Shirts, sweaters and overcoats are needed when you climb on the mountain in spring.
Summer (June to September) is always the high season for tourist for it is the best time to enjoy the sea of clouds on the mountain. From May to August, it is the wettest months with a foot or more of rain. So prepare raincoats, summer clothes, sun protection and a jacket for the colder night when visit Huangshan in Summer.
Autumn is the most comfortable season to appreciate the stunning beauty of Huangshan. But please notice that, the first week of October (Chinese National holiday week) is a high season, during which it is more crowded, and may costs a bit more for hotels. For autumn, prepare shirts, sweaters and overcoat are ok.
Winter is the low season for the freezing weather, but it is time to see the spectacular snowscapes scenery. Remember to prepare warm winter clothes.
