The average temperature is 20°C /68°F, and the average high temperature is 25°C / 77°F, and the average low temperature is 16°C / 61°F. The ancient city wall of Xian is the oldest and most complete ancient city wall built in the world, and it has witnessed the history of the whole ancient capital Xian. Its circumference is 13.74 kilometers and it used to be a military defense facility, including moat, bridge, gate, arrow tower, corner tower, enemy tower, bell tower and so on. At present, you can choose to ride a bicycle along the ancient city wall and enjoy the cityscape from the ancient wall. It takes about two hours to complete one ride. The Giant Wild Goose Pagoda is another iconic site in Xian and a must-see place for tourists. Upon the top floor of the tower, you can see the ancient capital Xian from a distance. Dacien Temple where the pagoda is located used to be the most famous and magnificent Buddhist temple in Tang Dynasty. It was built in 648AD, and has a history of more than 1300 years. The famous monk Xuanzang, known by nearly every household of China, once presided over the temple affairs and led the translation of Buddhist scriptures. He personally supervised the construction of the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda in the temple. Later, this Temple became the holy place of Mahayana Buddhism in China.
