What to See in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

Yellow Stone Stronghold (Huangshizhai)

Yellow Stone Stronghold is located west of the park, which occupying an area of 41 acres. As the must-see site for any Zhangjiajie Tour, Yellow Stone Stronghold shows a great view of forest, with the main attractions, like Traquil Trail in Fir Woods, Needle Peak Five-Finger Peak and so on.

Golden Whip Stream

The most charming scenery in the park is the sceneries along the Golden Whip Stream. While hiking along the stream, you may see every action of the fish in the cystal clear water.

Yuanjiajie

Yuanjiajie, located in the northern part of the park is a natural platform that faces giant rocks rising from deep valleys and surrounded by higher mountains.

Best time to go

Summer is the best sesason to visit Zhangjiajie, when there are not much fogs and clouds as these can limit visability and limit the specaular views. In winter, snow-glazed and cloudy, with peaks wreathed in mist, is beautiful. Every season will have a different charm.

Tips
Avoid the key holiday periods and festivals, such as national holitay in the early October, as it will be ever mor evisited and crowded. You can see Back Garden, breath taking Mihun Stage and the Frist Bridge under the sun.
