HighlightsTaste Various Delicious Sichuan Snacks, Learn to Cook Sichuan Dishes
Four years ago, I had a wonderful experience for being a chef for one day. Though being a foodie for many years, I myself didn’t cook much. So having the opportunity to Sichuan Cuisine Museum really made me excited. Sichuan Cuisine Museum consists of Classic Collection Hall, Interactive Demonstration Hall, Tea service & Leisure Hall, Kitchen God Ancestral Hall, and Sichuan Cuisine Raw Material Processing Tools Exhibition Area, etc., and it’s the only eatable museum in China with new way to experience Sichuan food culture as well as to learn how to cook Sichuan cuisine under the guidance of a professional chef.
I was Rewarded a Certificate of Master of Chuancais
Sichuan Cuisine Museum is located in Pixian County, and after one hour driving, my colleagues and I reached Sichuan Cuisine Museum. Their staff was already waiting for us at the entrance, and guided us in. Once we entered the lobby, there were staffs making egg pancake which is a delicious local snack. We gladly tried some, and it was very nice. After that, we continued the visit and learned how Pixian chilly bean paste is made as well as experienced making bean curd pudding. Later, we were guided to an outdoor area, and there were bamboo chairs for visitors to have a break, and more different kinds of Sichuan snacks were followed. Considering that we would have lunch after a while, I didn’t taste much of it. I was hoping to have two stomachs!
I was Learning about Different Kinds of Seasonings Needed
Later on, it was the highlight part of today, learn cooking. We were divided into a few groups, and each group had a chef to teach us how to cut, control fire, complete cooking process and accomplish our dish. Ingredients had been washed up and cooking utensils placed in order. Our group made Pumpkin steamed dumplings and cooked boiled beef in chili sauce under the guidance. The process of cooking was also interesting, and it made me feel to be a real chef when I finished these dishes. We then enjoyed our dishes together and returned home with an official certificate of “Master of Chuancais” and a new apron. The cooking class really impressed me with its professionalism as well as its caring for everyone’s dietary habits. I would give it 100 points.
Overall, it was a perfect day, and I just couldn't say enough good about it. The most important thing I learnt from this day tour was that I knew I could also be a good chef!
I Enjoyed the Cooking and Made a Delicious Sichuan Dish Finally
